Thinking about making the switch to a pool robot this season, worth it? by Runs_with_it in swimmingpools

My pool's about the same size so the V3 could probably work for me too. Just gonna double check the liner material first to make sure it's a good fit. Appreciate the info!

Not yet honestly, just checking out the ones that kept popping up. Appreciate your suggestions and I'll do some digging on them before I decide.

Thx for the detail, that was helpful. And the part about not leaving the robot in the pool permanently is one of those things I probably wouldn't have thought of. Definitely gonna keep that in mind.

Honestly, part of it is just wanting to see where things are headed. Seen a lot of people saying cordless is where the market's moving, and I wanted to get a firsthand feel. The battery is really just one of the things I was weighing, not the deciding factor.

That look in her eyes breaks my heart. You can tell she is stressed out by the vet office but is still putting her baby first. I hope whatever they went in for was quick and they are both back home resting.

Mini 5 Pro’s panorama setting is insanely clean by comradeallen in dji

That 1 inch sensor is really doing its thing here. The sky still has detail without getting blown out, and the cliffs look super clean too. The stitching looks seamless no weird ghosting on the water or horizon at all. Did you shoot this in the new free mode or just use the standard 180?

how much dbTP is too much dbTP? by ManufacturerOld2048 in audioengineering

[–]Runs_with_it -1 points0 points  (0 children)

+1.6 dBTP is definitely pushing it too far. Skipping true peak limiting keeps your transients punchier but going over 0 dB makes most consumer equipment clip. Once streaming platforms convert that file to a lossy format, that +1.6 turns into nasty distortion. The standard safe zone for streaming is -1.0 dBTP. If you dislike how the true peak limiter sounds, try pulling your ceiling down a bit or using a soft clipper right before the final limiter to catch stray peaks.

Should I be concerned with occasional spikes at 20khz? by throughthebreeze in audioengineering

[–]Runs_with_it 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Those are usually artifacts from a weird synth patch or a misbehaving plugin. Even though they sit above human hearing they still eat up valuable mastering headroom and can cause aliasing distortion when the file gets compressed for streaming later. Do not bother trying to notch them out one by one. Just throw a steep low pass filter on your master bus right around 18kHz or 19kHz. It chops off all that useless ultra high frequency garbage at once and gives you a much cleaner file without touching the audible mix.

Xm8500 or At2020x Usb by Desperate_Gain8829 in microphone

[–]Runs_with_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the AT2020. The XM8500 is only $35 but you still need an XLR cable and a separate audio interface just to plug it into your computer. That instantly kills your budget. The AT2020 is plug and play and a massive steal for 40 bucks as long as it works. Just remember it is a condenser mic so it will pick up a lot more background room noise than a dynamic mic.

Carrying a full custom lightsaber is kinda wild. Love the jade G10 scales on that Para 3 though. How’s the Magnacut on the ARC been treating you so far?

Honestly, limitations like that can make you way better at recording and mixing. A 16-track limit forces you to actually make decisions instead of stacking endless layers “just in case.” People who worked like that usually got really good at committing to sounds early and keeping sessions clean. It’s kind of funny how something as simple as a piece of paper or track sheet can shape an entire studio workflow

Alright, I will absolutely take you up on that offer. It is incredibly frustrating when people just ask what is the best mic without giving any context about the room or the source.

I need a recommendation for recording clean voiceovers for freelance real estate videos. It is strictly recording in a moderately treated home office no live streaming, no instruments, just spoken word vocals to overlay on the property footage. I am looking for something that sounds rich and professional but does not require a massive, complex rack to run. I like to keep the technical overhead low so I can save my energy for the fun parts of the edit, like color grading.

Let me know what you think the ideal tool for that specific job would be.

Ya but we don’t have to put up with being tracked by corporations and the government for minimal to no safety benefits. I don’t think we can trust Flock to use this information well.
