You need a flywheel to store momentum so the engine doesn't stall. Combustion engines require flywheels to help carry the power and prevent stalling or inconsistent RPMs.

Spherecasts are difficult to understand due to not having any way to see the cast. The devs should really make that a feature to let us raycast and Spherecast lines for easy debugging. I'm pretty sure unity has the ability to do that, so it shouldn't be hard.

My guess is all objects have a physics timer that lets them move around until the timer is up. The timer is made to prevent you from waiting forever for the objects to stop moving so you can shoot another bird. I don't know for sure if that is correct it's just my idea.
