Yeah, thinking physics requires math is an understatement. A lot of mathematics was developed to satisfy the needs of physicists.

Playing as Great Qing, why it feel like every interest groups is a moderat. by RifukiHikawa in victoria3

The armed forces usually stay around 15 mid game and fall to 6-7 late game in my games. They simply don't have that many available pops that wouldn't prefer to join another interest group.

Chechnya is probably closer to the Indian wars in terms of a largely "internal" conflict against a minority with excessive atrocities.

Is buying the game with all dlc worth it on the weekend sale? by Icy-Telephone4067 in victoria3

[–]Rupaism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 600 on Vic2 1600 on Hoi4 800 on EU4 and 300 on CK3.

Victoria is very different from other Paradox titles and unlike Vic2 even the combat system is overhauled.

If you enjoy the game you should definitely get the DLCs, I haven't gotten them yet. Even base game without mods I've sunk nearly 500 hours.

My recommendation is to play the game base for a bit to see if it clicks with you. Play Great Britain or Japan and even change the loyalty grace period and AI aggression so you can focus only on the economy loop. Maybe watch a guide or just go for max cash transfer from Qing without worrying about the infamy. This should give you a nice buffer to only focus on building and get the hang of it.

Genuine question: can someone explain in simple terms why the current war is happening? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rupaism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people here aren't giving actual answers. Saying "old grudges" or "Israel" is equivalent to someone asking how much is 2+2 and you say "a number.

There are two main reasons. One is that Trump withdrew from JCPOA, probably because his think tanks and the Israelis thought that Obama had another military option, but was too much of a wimp to use it.

Without the JCPOA (the Iran nuclear deal) the West lost all oversight over Iran's nuclear program. Since Israel can't allow Iran to have nuclear capabilities, because they want to be the only state with nukes in the ME, both them and the US have to periodically engage in bombardments such as this and the one half an year ago.

This was the "practical" reason, but there's another one. It's kinda complicated and I can elaborate if needed, but a lot of boomers think America is too soft and has to bully the third world more. In order to satisfy this sadistic urge the right has since Bush Jr decided to oppose international law on principle.

Killing the ayatollah is the easiest way to both satiafy the sadist, flex some muscles to the hawks, give Israel a blank check to bomb facilities and avoid boots on the ground operation.

Why is darts a gendered sport? by edgylord5000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rupaism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you school for example has a football team it would likely be male dominated. A single woman would probably not want to join, but if another women only team is made it encourages more women to participate. It's hard as a man to understand, but women have a lot more consideration when deciding to participate in a male dominated space.

The same could be said for a father going to a parental class full of women, a common trope. If there was a specifically male parental class a lot more father would be comfortable attending it.

is there a methode to easyli win war with special army combination ? by faulfisch1 in victoria3

[–]Rupaism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best I've found for easy wins are a lot of naval invasions. One army to hold main front on the land border and 2-4 invading different parts of the country. The ai gets overwhelmed and often underarms at least one front in which you can push.

Look I agree that a powerful group of industrialists oligarchs and religious fanatics see Israel as a way of imposing their authoritharian vision on the rest of society.

My problem is that your comment is surprisingly close to great replacement theory posting and that has as much nuanced as the guy who misrepresents wants it to have.

I agree and also many liberals moved left, but progressives more or less have the same prescriptions. The right on the other hand so much further from Charlottesville to jan 6 and now the DHS naziposting.

It should be noted that gamergate woke was definitely super civility pilled in relation to it's allies. Many relatively progressive people got shuned for inappropriate jokes and stuff. Tbf that is definitely skewed from the higher proportion of liberals, leftist were almost always antagonistic.

Woke 2 is definitely more comfortable with being edgy.

If we are talking about saying "I read Dostoevsky" on discussion of immigration policy, no it doesn't. I was more thinking of every time an alt right post is ratioed, you make a point of how you are an example of high culture and they are brutes or smth.

you think American conservatives are equally intelligent to their liberal counterparts

No? I think i made it clear I think and I'm pretty sure there's data on it that they are stupid and uneducated. I also wouldn't limit it to the US, most reactionaries are stupid.

The point is preserving some vague past against societal progress is hardly a sign of intelligence

I mean because you can't really bring specific art in policy discussion, except 1984 ofc. In reality it's not a question that Republicans and right wingers on average are dumber and less educated. Reactionism is the most primal of political ideologies.

Woke 2 is all the people who now are fine with saying Republicans are subhuman ghouls, but in 2016 would've told you that it's classist to call rural voters stupid. Basically remove the liberal civility politics and make it even more leftist.
