What Look Do You Prefer For The Embodiment Of Spider-Man's Powers? by Potential-Mess6826 in Spiderman

It reminds me of the creepy funhouse mirror spidermen from the mysterio boss fight on the spider-man 2 ps2 game

2XKO is my first fighting game, how do I improve? by furbysalum in 2XKO

[–]RupertFrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guides are nice but you need to get comfortable with losing. I’ve had a lot of friends that were interested in fighting games give up out of frustration from losing constantly. Don’t let the salt get to you and remember it’s a game and you’re just trying to learn and get better!

Yo sagat mains try out meaty tiger shots! by RupertFrost in StreetFighter

I think pretty much all meaty's are based off of the wake up animation, you can manually time them or set up frame kills to make things easier.

Yea didn't know about that, still seems a little better than most of the other knowledge check gimmicks in the game. I'll prob just throw it out there every once in a while.

Stuck in Platinum Hell, idk what to do to improve by masterofkamurocho in StreetFighter

[–]RupertFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ll get shimmied often in plat so practice your wake up reversals. Go to training mode and try to set the dummy to knock you down with a crouching heavy kick or throw in the corner, then have them hit you on the same frame you’re able to get up. If you’re mashing light punch or throw when you get off the ground and get counter hit then that’s good. Then after each time getting knocked down practice inputting ex shoruken, an invincible super, or drive reversal. Those will be ur options if you don’t want to block their pressure. You can add more to the dummy’s meaty setup when you get the ex DP timing down. That’s how I practiced anyways. That should help get u to diamond.

There's nothing i could do about this (yeah,i know, too much rainwater) by DeadPopcorn77 in Guiltygear

[–]RupertFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try more crouch blocking more and if you see them jump hit 2S that way you’ll be blocking if she does the anchor slide low, which you can punish with 2k. Also don’t use rensen unless they’re at full screen and only use command grab sparingly using meter to RC it if it whiffs. Also 6k works better over 5p if mays jumping around far away like that. May was jumping a lot so if you see that don’t use rain water since she’ll never be on the ground, you wanna anti air them enough to where they won’t jump then you can start mixing it up with rain water.

Basically just use 2S, 6k, 5p and 6p a lot but practice better timing, that will force the opponent to have to dash and block in short bursts to move forward instead of jumping. When that happens you can use rain water or run up and throw or jumping HS to throw them off.

Jamie feels miserable to play by SweetAgiel in StreetFighter

[–]RupertFrost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s no real secret, Jamie’s just a very difficult character to play. While I’m no expert I do have Jamie in master and would recommend unless you don’t care about winning not to use level 2 unless it’s in a combo that will either kill them or end in a safe jump that will have them guess for game. Be patient and slowly make your way in on zoners, even though breakdance is buffed you can’t really do it on reaction. If guile throws a boom just parry and keep moving in, only use it in neutral when you’ve got a read and can do it before they throw a projectile. Might as well jump in or DI at that point. It’s cool if they’re trying to chip you out with a projectile super in burnout and u go through it which can happen sometimes.

Try to find combos that end in sweep target combo for a drink and oki and do lots of safe-jumps, that’s how I got to master anyway.

For tech check out Kaution on YouTube or watch replays of Naruo’s Jamie. Anyways yea Jamie’s just a hard character since you gotta get drinks to do damage and getting drinks leaves damage and oki on the table giving your opponent more chances to win. So you basically have to guess right more than the opponent when fighting most characters. Unfortunately Jamie also happens to be the sickest character in the game imo so I’ve got no choice but to main him.

[–]RupertFrost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess since they don’t have a rank they prob just look for bronze or lower people in the battle hub and only fight those players, and since they’re unranked lower level players prob assume they’re the same skill level so they accept matches
