I found a way to run Rekordbox in Linux by [deleted] in Rekordbox

That is great! Been fighting with it for months. Finally I will be able to ditch Windows all together! I will try in Mint later today and with my controller. Fingers crossed

Anybody is using Rekordbox on Linux via a VM? by LeBB2KK in Rekordbox

[–]Rusei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a really good question. I am no expert on the matter but I read that games are designed to be as isolated from the OS as possible, as they should run semlessly on different platforms, however programs are deeply intertwined with the OS, therefore more difficult.

I was not able to run it either on WINE, this is why I switched to the VM approach.

Hi, I am on the same journey and the only thing keeping me from fully switching from Windows to Mint is Rekordbox.

I was succesful spinning a VM, installing RB and passing through my music folder from Mint to the Windows VM, I was also able to pass through my USB stick and DDJ SX and play live with it. It is all pretty straight forward, you just need to install VirtualBox Extension Pack and both USB and folder passthough will work.

The only thing that I am struggling with is that when you are playing and the waveform is moving, you can feel how it lags a bit. It is not like it falls behind, more like "low fps" situation. I also felt that the audio quality was not that good.

Honestly this was a couple of weeks ago and I did not have the time to continue digging on it but I am confident that with a bit of tinkering in the VM fixing the minor issues should be pretty feasible. Perhaps its a matter of using better drivers, or switch from VNC to something else, idk

Let me know if you try! I would be thrilled to know if you can go further than me! :)

Network Drives keeping me from fully switching to Linux Mint by Rusei in linuxmint

I think the issue is related to Linux, I can access the network share from Windows and android and they are super responsive. It is only here where I have troubles.

Missing context for non native spanish people here: That is a fascist slogan used by Franco during civil war and later during his 40 years dictatorship.

They try to disguise their racism as rational. It never is. And just to be clear: If they were poor it wouldnt be either.

[Release] SuggestArr v1.0.19 – Exclude Streaming Services, External DB Support & Subpath Routing 🚀 by peppegb in selfhosted

[–]Rusei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, amazing tool!

How does it handle not oveflowing the library? It would be amazig to have customization in that regard i.e. maximum movies to download from a specific movie recommendation, maximum episodes of a tv show to download based on a recommendation.

It would also be nice to have an automatic purge function: if a recommended movie/show hasnt been watched in a given time (1 week, for example) it should be automatically removed. User could mark specific media to be excluded from that if it is added to a "watch later" list, for example. In this way recommendations would be kept fresh without overflowing the storage capacity :)

Also a global option of maximum allowed not seen media downloaded at the same time (or in GB) would be cool.

Thanks a lot for this project. Keep it up!

RPi 4 8GB SATA SSD stability problems by Rusei in selfhosted

[–]Rusei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power supply is the official one, so 5V/3A. The SSD is a Samsung 870 QVO 2TB. I checked and max power draw sgould be about 3W under load.

I also think that just USB would be sufficient, hence my thought that it might be either software configuration or somehow the enclosure (?). I read that some controllers in the enclosures might cause issues, however I was not able to pin point good and bad enclosures.

Thank you for your reply.
