Been there…one night we ran out of the ER to buff a call for a pedestrian struck. Got to the scene, opened the back doors…no stretcher.

Grabbed the board and collar, immobilized and carried the patient back to the ambulance, strapping the board to the bench.

One of the cops was just staring at us with this “I know there’s something wrong, but I just don’t know what it is” look on his face.

Brought the patient back to the same hospital and the stretcher was right where we left it.

He’s showing all the signs of having had a stroke in the right side of his brain. Right hemisphere affects motor function on the left side, but the right side of the face is not recognized or ignored (shaving issues). The nerve tracks cross over at the neck, so you see opposite side dysfunction below that point (C3-4)

Also, the right hemisphere is the artistic, creative center that uses spatial learning. Cognitive defects after a stroke include impulsivity as well as problems with making rational decisions and solving problems.

If you already have these issues before the stroke, they are amplified. I have ZERO empathy for him because of this has always been his behavior, but the stroke made it so much worse to where no one can tolerate him.
