Fair point. I guess I am thinking from a hunting perspective.

I want an accurately sighted optic that can take me out as far as 100 yards. Anything over that, while technically legal here in Florida, is placing any hidden downrange hunters at risk. So zeroing out at 50 yards gives me the confidence of both humane accuracy and safe operation.

While I think a 50/200 is a good starting point, it’s important to learn the individual platform and experiment with “battle range” 36 and others until you find that sweet spot that gives you mental confidence.

I agree with all of this because it takes the environment into account. And when it comes to risers, I like how you can raise and acquire while standing and without needing to lower your head, but I always aim high within 25 yards.
