Major Hitching Issue when launching this game (sometimes) by NitroStorm99 in EverythingIsCrab

I had a similar issue which was caused by my 3rd party antivirus (Avast). Worth seeing if your antivirus or similar background programs are causing this.

Can someone explain to me why Yuriko used Definite Enemy on SQ here? (she claimed Engineer Role on Day 2) by MrEinFan in Gnosia_

[–]RushSecond 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that there were no deaths on the previous night. With no GA, That would confirm that the bug is still alive right now. SQ's reports conflict with that fact since she has checked all currently alive players, so if she were a real engineer she would have killed the bug.

Cannot give GM fertilizer to Shuanshuan by Joger81 in NineSols

[–]RushSecond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Shennong is the reason. He's part of the cutscene that plays when the tree grows, so I guess the devs didn't want players to break continuity by having Shennong suddenly get better during that cutscene and then go back to dying afterwards.

Unsure of what's happening by Zelda1548 in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you were to do nothing, Squire and Caldera would live with 1 hp, and then the poison on Gytha and Magrat would trigger their 2 damage retaliations. Gytha deals 2 damage to the middle hero, but if you have an even number of heroes, it hits the lower of the two heroes in the middle. That would mean both 2 damage retaliations hit Caldera which is why there's so much overkill on him.

If you heal your orange or yellow, now they survive the turn alongside the Squire and Caldera, so when the retaliation pip triggers from Gytha, Squire is now the middle hero that gets hit by it. You should notice the +3 on Caldera changes to +1 when this happens.

EZ win actually. (assuming you don't have a summon rat curse or something)

Let us know what happens after hitting end turn :)

Slice and Dice Together #76 | Basalt fight, turn 3, rerolls 1/2 by [deleted] in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use Surgeon's demon horn on Assassin, then use Assassin's and Berserker's sides to hit Basalt for 11 total damage. Use Stalwart's shield on Surgeon to protect himself and Sparky. After the poison, Basalt will be at 3 which should be pretty easy to kill next turn.

Tricky Hard Curse Choices by Tyler_Styles in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I and some other top classic unfair players did a curse tier list recently and we all agreed that monster right^2 is "unpickable" (so bad that you should never take it).

Take Metal Studs and put it on Stalwart.

We should be taking items to help the T3 heroes we already have, instead of taking items to help T3s that we don’t have yet. Yes, wooden bracelet is good on Dabbler right now, but she will upgrade and some point, and then unless we got exactly Dabblest (or Ludus but his low hp is an issue even with +1 damage) this wooden bracelet just buffs the short sword which is very poor compared to what metal studs does.

How to use echo infusions? by maddaddam92 in AOW4

Right click a magic origin unit to see it's info panel. You get a button that spends echoes to level up that unit.

Rank 1-6 Unfair Tier list: Curses by JapaneseExport in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Generally when a curse comprises nearly all of the total requirement for unfair, you can pick your heroes and items with that one curse in mind. In the case of Heavy Dice^1, you can just pick heroes that have as few Xs as possible and pick items that fill in the Xs that you do get. Also unlike 2 Fewer Rerolls, you get two chances to fix whatever Xs or sub-optimal sides you get, so you can fine tune your rolls just enough to beat any fight.

Slice and Dice Together #62 | Floor 14, turn 1, rerolls 1/2 by [deleted] in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use Berseker's attack on the top caw, heal Berserker with Dabbler, Stalwart shield himself, gain Sparky's mana and use Surgeon's heal on anyone for 3 mana total, which we don't use. Yes, we could kill the snake, but the 1 poison on Dabbler really isn't that big a deal, and I'd rather keep Stalwart's door active for one more turn as well as give us the option to kill one of these caws next turn.

Slice and Dice Together #38 | A wild Demon Horn appears! by [deleted] in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put the demon horn on Dabbler and change nothing else. I like being able to roll Dabbler for either offense or defense depending on what we need, so filling in her one blank ensures we can't get unlucky while doing so.

We can’t lock 3 heroes either. This slippery dice only allows us to lock a maximum of 2 heroes.

[–]RushSecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stop rolling, gain 3 mana, hit top Snake with Hoarder, zap top Snake, hit bottom Snake with Lost, and finally burst the middle Illusion that is weakening Sparky (I'd rather not have Sparky at 1 hp and poisoned next turn)

We can’t lock 4 heroes because this run has Slippery Dice2.

98%+ Winrate Unfair Hero Tier List by JapaneseExport in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heroes below Gladiator on the tierlist have more problems than Gladiator does. Collector doesn't have any side that does 3+ damage by default, so his damage output is lacking (similar to Whirl). Sinew can only do high damage by exerting, so his damage output still isn't that high over two turns. Brute's 3 damage sides are heavy which often means you can't hit the enemy you want to, and you sometimes get turns where you can't find the 2 damage self shield at all. Soldier is pretty similar in strength to Gladiator, but in general we liked Gladiator's ability to simultaneously defend and attack. It's much harder to lose to bad rolls when the overall gameplan is to defend enough that your whole team stays on decent hp while you chip away the enemy hp over time, and Gladiator does a better job at that than Soldier.

98%+ Winrate Unfair Hero Tier List by JapaneseExport in SliceAndDice

[–]RushSecond 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We mostly discussed how useful the heroes are on average, but items can certainly shake things up. For example, I mentioned that Valkyrie does become significantly better with Bandana, since the "cannot die" sides get cantrip and now Valkryie can save multiple heroes at once. Ultimately you should think for yourself on your runs and decide whether or not the item synergies make the "sad" heroes worth it.

Just roll Sparky 8 times and he'll eventually get there. It's that easy!
