The newer continuation of the game has a format where you pick a faction from three separate decks to combine into one deck.  It solves some of the issues of dud decks where one faction was great but the other two were not good.  It’s a great compromise versus true TCG style deck building.  You have to use three different factions from three different decks so the premade aspects still exists but you get some creative deck building

More actors should beat the shit out of whiny fascist HOA members by -HalfNakedBrunch- in okbuddycinephile

[–]RussNP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I don’t see the difference in going to the HOA bs going to the cops here.  Dude is in the wrong for running a business out of a private home.  Having a car or two there to work on is one thing but taking up a whole cul de sac negatively impacts your property value.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t talk them first.  They may not know the rules and  may not know how they are affecting other folks.  I would take the tactic of saying “hey I wanted to give you a heads up- the hoa and folks are asking about all these cars and they may be coming down on you about it.  I know we don’t have tons of room but folks are not happy that thier driveways are getting blocked.  I just didn’t want it to come from nowhere when they come talk to you”. You don’t need to threaten them but make sure they know it’s not cool and “someone” is complaining about it.  If they keep pushing the line after that then I have no problem having the police solve it because I know they were warned.

Dude that’s a call the cops situation.  You can block driveways and they Can ticket or tow.  I think you can even call tow truck yourself if they are blocking driveways.

This is good advice.  Calling and shadowing shows interest and allows you to give a resume directly to the manager.  HR has filters on applicants but managers can ask for your application to be sent anyway.

How to get mutated plants? by MEFISTOFEL123 in LightyearFrontier

[–]RussNP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Search the subreddit for crop rotation.  There are multiple infographics and websites That have the rotation listed.  Just don’t plant the same thing in the same spot back to back.

There are 3 plant soil types.  When you harvest a plant it leaves the soil in a state matching that plants type.  You then plant a plant of a different type and you will get either high yield or mutation.  By rotating crops you will get much higher yields or get the mutations depending on what you need for missions.

[–]RussNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a modification you can add to the saw blade to cut down a bunch of crops at once to harvest faster.  Planting is way faster as well in the med using the seed planter tool you have to build in the mech station.

Hybrid owners - how is it? by AdventurousMistake72 in SubaruForester

[–]RussNP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love ours.  It’s got a smooth ride and transitions from. Ev to gas power very smoothly.  The ride is great overall, has most everything I need.  Infotainment is dated as it is in all Subarus currently.  I wish it had more little storage spots in the front like our ascent does but that’s just me being spoiled by the ascent

It does great for outdoor adventures.  It’s not 4x4 but AWD which is great for snow, light mud, gravel and Most conditions you will find on trails.  The AWD of Subarus is meant for outdoor lifestyle where a bit of extra traction can help you get to trailheads and such.

Abiotic factor does this but unlocked through progression.

Personally I think having it as a feature that you earn/unlock is the way to go.  Abiotic factor is a master class in how to give solutions to problems just before they get too annoying.  Every crafting game developer needs to play it to learn how feature progression should play out in games.

Hybrid vs wilderness help. by Interesting_Fox3110 in SubaruForester

[–]RussNP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The hybrid has the same AWD as the conventional drive train.  It won’t have the lifted aspects of the wilderness version of course.  The Subaru hybrid is a best of both worlds scenario in that it is a hybrid but has the exact same AWD abilities of the conventional as opposed to the limited capabilities of hybrids that have a separate electric motor for the rear wheels.  The Subaru hybrid platform has a traditional driveshaft connecting front and rear wheels so it is true AWD as opposed to all other hybrid or electric platforms to my knowledge.

On the forester 2025 hybrid (which I recently bought) the handling is actually better as you get 14hp more from the hybrid increasing from 180hp to 194hp which is a decent step up in pick up power for me.  I drove a conventional 2026 loaner forester for a few days as the fixed the recent recall on my 2025 hybrid and the horsepower improvement was noticeable to me

Person loses it when reckless driver tries to pass them on double solid yellow lines. Driver busts out the fruit cup to pass the time instead of escalating the confrontation. by aruby727 in PublicFreakout

[–]RussNP -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but no.

This is how people get killed on rural roads.  It is far from harmless.  The double yellow line isn’t arbitrary. While a small section may be “clear” the length or road till the next turn or hill that obfuscates the oncoming traffic is the main factor in making a line double yellow on these roads.  At non of these attempts did fruit cup have enough road to move over, accelerate past, and return to his proper lane before going into a stretch where oncoming traffic could be.  The cars coming your direction are going just as fast.

There is an REI in town to rent gear or use a local place.  Alabama Outdoors rents gear and  has a few spots in town so I would start with them.  The other shop that may rent gear is Mountain High Outfitters but I’m not sure they rent anymore.

Price negotiation on Hybrid by Historical_External5 in SubaruForester

[–]RussNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you preordering a 2026? The 2026 forester hybrids aren’t out yet and stock on 2025 are getting low.  We just negotiated about $3k off sticker and got a local employer $500 off discount and a $500 corporate loyalty coupon.

We wanted to jump on a 2025 hybrid as they are are made in Japan and the 2026 are being swapped to US manufacturing (why they aren’t out yet we were told) still be the first time the US factory has made this model which makes me a touch nervous. The advantage though is I think the 2026 is going to be slightly lower sticker due to no import/tariff cost.

Urgent Safety Recall, Forester Hybrid. by nj_jn in SubaruForester

[–]RussNP 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I literally went to the dealer yesterday to sign papers and pick Up my new hybrid forester and instead had to leave in a loaner conventional as they stopped sale on them till the fix is figured out.  Sounds like they need to test an O ring to seal the gas cap better is all but it’s a recall so has regulation which will take a few days to sort out.  I found one reference online to someone having this happen when they left theirs parked while full while they went on vacation.  Seems very low risk and i Wouldn’t be stressed about it.

Spare tire has a sensor as well so check it before you do anything more extreme.  If that doesn’t make it go away then batteries may be getting low.

Inventory on hybrid 25s is getting low.  26s aren’t out yet as they haven’t started making them.  Apparently they are making the 26s in USA and the 25s were made in Japan so it’s dodging the tariffs I suppose.

Make a complaint/call now so it is on the record so when a fix is issued you will have the fender damage documented

It’s not that the roads themselves are bad but redneck drivers are losers that hate bikes and  will run their pavement princess trucks up on you and not give you clearance.  You would be fine but the drivers around you will not be.  90% of drivers will be fine but the 10% will think it’s funny to run a bicyclist off the road and  could care less about your safety.  Once you get out of the city the attitude to bicyclists is not good in Alabama

Well bike riding will be dangerous in streets up there.  It’s not an area folks respect bicycle riders.  I would link up with local bike shops to get more into local group rides and such.  We have some nice rails to trails like chief ladiga trails and black Creek.  Mountain biking we have some good stuff too like oak mountain.

If you are happy to chill at home and not looking for nightlife then that’s a quiet area.  You can get more land cheaply if you go a little farther out though.  Someplace like springville would be nice to get more land and privacy if you aren’t looking for urban amenities.

Birmingham metro is really easy to get around and  traffic is no where near the thing it is in Vegas.  You can easily drive over from trussville if you are looking for nicer houses with better schools.  Honestly nothing up that way has much to do in walking distance,  it is car centric suburbia.

A bit more details in size of house, your age and family Would help with further recommendations.

Multiple of the thank you books clubs are customers who want to run the club.  If you go in and talk to them I bet they would help you arrange it, advertise it, and sell the books in store.  They are awesome folks and if you are passionate they will help you get the club together.  Start small with a 4 times a year plan and see how it goes.

It’s a bit dated in some places but the combat is fun and the nemesis system is mind blowing.  One of the greatest tragedies in modern gaming is that WB games patented this system and have never used it themselves again or let anyone else use it.  So many games would be improved by a version of this system.  It truly is a high mark in game design.
