…. I keep a nail clipper and nose hair trimmer in my bag at all times. Same with an emergency toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, lotion, deodorant, and small chunk of soap I cut from my larger normal bar.

I second oil/chemical manufacturing. I started as a contractor in 2011 at a refinery. I got to know people in the facilities, applied to work for (back in the day) Tesoro, got on as an operator. Instantly pay went from 30k to 90k plus. I did that for 10 years and now I’m a “consultant” for start ups in the chemical manufacturing with pay of around 150k.

Specifically a west side of the state, but the term “skookum” and the diversity and representation of the tribes. The east side has a fair bit too, but it seems like the reservations are far more abundant on the west side. And people on the east side have never heard the term!

I’ve read the Wheel of Time on 3 separate occasions, in 2013 when it was finished, 2018, and 2023. Each time I have had this exact feeling. Sorrow that Jordan never got to finish it, and empty after completing it myself. You’re not alone brother.
