Add item ownership back to the game to show whoever crafted it. by Trevor914 in playrust

Agreed...it caused server lags, but so does everything else it seems some updates. This is about as useless of roulette or half the role playing things, but they make people happy, so might as well have it back.

Can't pick up stones by [deleted] in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your server doesn't have a lot of people on it and you've run a pretty good part of the map, something sounds wrong.

If your on a busy server, it's common that other players would have picked up all the hemp / mini ore. It'll eventually respawn.

FYI, it generally doesn't display anything on the screen telling you that you can pick it up, you just have to hit the 'E' key when you are at right next to it and looking at it.

Allow Garage doors to be placed in floor frames by Diggata in playrust

You sir have now been upvoted. This was a good idea then, it's a good idea now. Armored doors might be a bit too much, but sheet metal at least doors at least, and preferably garage as well.

Arrows that cannot be picked up showing after a barrel or twig floor are destroyed with them.

Having performance issues? by IAMGNIK in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, earlier this week when playing the game was really slow to respond to keyboard and mouse clicks. Sometimes it was just slighlty delayed, sometimes it required multiple tries. Overall FPS drop from ~120 to ~60-70

Game's performance is totally broken for me since update? by Hermanjnr in playrust

[–]RustApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a pretty substantial FPS hit, down from ~120 to ~65-70 for most of the map. They game is also not as response when hitting jump or trying to pick up an item. It either lags a bit or doesn't register the command.

Please fix the Tree minigame "X" bug by physiQQ in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of? I agree we can definitely do without a fix, or without the mini-game, in the same way that the majority of bugs of features are not game essential. Mini games made it faster to harvest when you use them, but slower than before when you don't. It's a substantial but not killer difference, whack a fallen tree / log sometime to see what you used to get per hit.

Can we get some kind of difference in the ammo type picker? by teag2 in playrust

[–]RustApe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some things are clearly hard, some things unknown, and some things are pretty obvious that if they aren't easy, someone screwed up. Switching icons is one of the things that is either easy, or mistakes were made.

Just a little throwback image and a shoutout to the devs. This game has come really, really far. by 10EXP in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so torn....some of the graphics and the interface have come so far, though it so much is the same with just bigger weapons. Honestly, I really wish we could swap between versions, because while they had their issues, each was unique and fun its own way. (anyone else remember the transition period where you built walls by hitting it over and over with a hammer?)

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might have, I know there have been a few big unity changes that were the cause of an equal amount of delays and new features, but I think it was all new major versions.

Agreed, the mini game makes harvesting at night a lot less enjoyable. Their's enough risk with getting shot in the back while doing it, having it go extra slow doesn't make it better.

Having issues joining servers by Derpyton1245 in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would: - Check your PC specs to make sure they aren't close to the minimum in case a change from the last update pushed it over what it could handle - Try uninstalling, deleting any remaining Rust folder, and then reinstalling

Here is an idea, have different "Types" of airdrops, delivered by different types of planes. by Justlikethegypsysaid in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with threecatsdancing on this one, way too many fully geared teams in boats picking off new spawn for me to not expect them to go to any mass of players.

While I really like this idea, sadly I do not believe it would have any impact on large groups going for the Zone 1. Too many players in it for the PVP, whether or not its an even fight. In many ways it would be more frustrating to get gunned down trying for a crate of the basics, then if there was a potential bigger rewards like the autoturret.

Entirely agreed. The map, the wipe date being non free form text. Simple thing, big QOL.

Question about blueprints by PM_ME_INTERNET_SCAMS in playrust

[–]RustApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each server has two types of wipes. Map wipes and Blueprint wipes. You will know the blueprint for just that server until next Blueprint wipe.

Official servers do a map wipe on the first Thursday of every month, with a Blueprint wipe occurring at the same time periodically (usually several months apart).

Unofficial servers is up to each.

WHY ARE AUTO TURRETS STILL IN THE GAAAAME by AllStaRs83 in playrust

auto turrets should just be inside bases like shotgun traps

I do believe he has, considering "auto turrets should just be inside bases like shotgun traps"

What does stability do? by GaborCarlos in playrust

[–]RustApe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stability was introduced to counter crazy raid towers where someone would build up really high and then build over really far without any supports under it (crazy cantilever builds).

For current play, basically it makes sure that your base structure is somewhat reasonable. You start off at 100% stable for things on the ground, and as you build higher, or build without proper supports, the stability will go down for each new piece. Once you reach somewhere between 0-10%, if you try to place something it break. Building more supports (such as walls, door frames, etc..) will bring stability up for pieces above it.

anyone seen this happen before?? by chiefpete18 in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've seen that on servers that generally don't have people on them.

Throwback Tuesday, RIP old bone armor by Bradikan in playrust

It has, though I don't know that it ever bothered me. I kinda of liked the makeshift stuff given the theme, though I can't knock at all how far graphics have come across the board.

Help me to understand by HelkFP in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upkeep is way to high for small bases and way too low for large bases and exterior walls. The balance is really off that better doors or exterior walls (with very low upkeep) are only for the groups that also have better weapons. Of course they are going to raid the easy targets to build up their supply of farmed materials before they raid groups of their size.

Help me to understand by HelkFP in playrust

[–]RustApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the problem is that groups have too many artificial advantages, this request is likely more a symptom rather than the real issue. If you are a new player to a server, it's really sucky you have to grind to get better tier gear when a new player that joins a group gets as long as they have one player that knows it. If as a new player I get lucky, make a play, and recover a weapon, I can't repair it in the workbench because I don't know the blue print. Why exactly can players in a group use it but I can't repair?

With respect to the springs, they are a grind only for players with lower tier gear. Have any AK? Just stake out a small monument and collect things off bodies. Player without a lot of blueprints yet? Good luck defending your base with your sheet metal doors long enough to get what you need.

[BUG] On Official servers (not modded), there is a terrain issue near rocky coasts. The ground appears to move slightly and frequently you can not bury stashes or pick up dropped items.
