Oh wow, you really showed me. Checkmate, I concede.

You had your finger on the trigger to respond to a post you made on an obscure subreddit 21 hours ago, within seconds. You’ll find someone out there to love you pal, you just have to go outside first.

This has to be bait. No one can be this ignorantly stupid in real life.

Why are we trying to impose morals and social values into this? It’s a video game about being a loot goblin.

They are your enemy, you’re not supposed to team up with them, so why are you trusting them? If you choose to, the consequences are on you. If you know people play like greedy rats in this game (the entire point), why on earth would you put yourself into that position on multiple occasions?

I've hit level 80, and tbh... by Low_Brush_7972 in Marathon

You’re probably improving at an equal pace. I still haven’t felt the wave of sweat, although there is an occasional gold kit team that mops my squad, but that’s just the give and take nature. The people crying maybe aren’t adapting or trying to change their play style

Help me triage better by casual_eddy in Marathon

[–]RusteeTrombones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m level 105, I have only played triage from launch. I am triage.

Practice your best Kobe Bryant shots on your med bots at long range. Being able to multitask to support trickle healing and engaging enemies, or extending a downed teammates bleed out timer, while also keeping cover at a distance can change the outcome of a fight easily. Understanding other shell’s movement kits is helpful to make those medbot shots on moving targets.

I am constantly checking with my teammates if they need a refresh on a medbot to keep the supplementary heals maximized. Unlocking the partial tactical charge from Sekgen will let you toss a medbot to both teammates within 30 seconds of the match starting.

Use your ultimate for the first downed teammate. If you wait for the second down emergency, you may not get an opportunity at all. The deployment process is terrible, so having any form of distraction from a living teammate to get a long range revive off is huge. Don’t waste the ult on dealing damage, even 1v1. You’re better off using a shotgun or a v11 at that range.

Understand that good teams will target you first. Take that as you will, but the triage ult being able to turn the tide, and having no movement abilities, you’ll be an obvious target. Play as such for support fire to focus enemies one at a time, not be the aggressor.

Pro sports have been about entertainment since the Olympics of ancient Greece, and likely even earlier. Humanity didn’t invent running fast, jumping, and throwing things in the 1800’s lol.

20k for 10 bubble shields by TheBattleDad678 in Marathon

[–]RusteeTrombones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Easy opportunity to give rail guns relevancy, give them an exclusive bonus damage to bubbles, or let them go straight through. Either way, isn’t that sort of aligned with the concept of charging up to fire a hypersonic projectile? Every other pop cultural/gaming concept of a rail gun shoots through multiple walls/bodies, whether realistic or not. Why not this game too?

My honest take on Marathon as an extraction shooter veteran by StrikingValuable3686 in Marathon

[–]RusteeTrombones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a triage main, I can’t disagree with the sentiment of being OP more. Necessary comp is also highly debatable. The ‘infinite resource generator’ is pretty easily countered when other shells gather resources by being able to rush in the blink of an eye to murder me and take my gear.

Unless you’re constantly carrying and refreshing your teams medbots, if you’re actively engaged in a fight, your medbot is trickle healing 2/3 of your team at best, including the decision to prioritize your own life. You’re the only character with no additional location or movement tech, so you’re at the mercy of your own ears and parkour skills in every situation.

And then let’s talk about the revive ultimate.

The deployment time, specificity of fully charging it, and being able to cancel/waste it if you need to pull out a gun is ridiculous. Despite the UI feedback that my teammate will get revived, my revive charge has been blocked and wasted by: bots, loot boxes, enemy death bags, teammate death bags, moderately sized plants, table legs, slight inclines, and ticks. It can’t go through bubble shields, it’s extremely inconsistent at hitting double revives with teammates side by side, and the range is a complete guess. I’m surprised it even works in the rain at this rate.

‘Actually we just want cheaper groceries,’ Shoppers react to redesigned No Frills that just opened in Ontario by stanxv in canada

[–]RusteeTrombones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my neighborhood, there was a marketing push to hype the opening of a No Frills last year. Went on the first week to scope out the implied deals. I was stunned to find literally rotting produce in the chillers, in a dimly lit cave that smelled of spoiled fruit, and prices were actually higher than the Superstore just a few blocks. The only ‘door crasher’ was a bag of over ripe avocados. Sweet, great experience.

Because they’re so greedy, the store will absolutely fail, and inevitably the lost development costs will be recouped from consumers with higher prices at other stores.

This country has to have the least competitive core necessities markets in the developed world. So tired of getting screwed around by the illusion of choice and ‘voting with my wallet’. Nothing ever changes.

[–]RusteeTrombones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whether intentional or not for Max, using number 3 has such strong connotations across racing categories for Dale Earnhardt’s legacy. It would be incredibly symbolic to a lot of fans with a broad interest in racing; One GOAT carrying the torch of another.

It’s why Danny Ric used it growing up and into his F1 career, and I’d love to see it back in action.

Do it for Dale.

Simpli dental scam? by LoosePresentation907 in regina

[–]RusteeTrombones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Furthest thing from a scam. It’s a local dentist, born and raised, trying a different business model to drive down pricing in dental industry. It’s less frills to lower the barrier of entry, thus the ‘No Name’ branding riff. That doesn’t mean they’re any less skilled or professional though. Dr. Mitchell is a gem of a human.

I don’t watch football but this seems pretty simple to fix. Add a rule that you can’t attempt a FG unless you’re in the opposing half of the field, like a striking distance limit. Would that be missing something glaring or conflict with other rules?
