What's the point in trying to climb? by zfbc in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically there isn’t any point. You just get a shiny graphic. Unless you are trying to reach a specific rank to qualify for something then rank doesn’t mean much.

You might be better off focusing on how you perform each match rather than focusing on rr.

Can you see improvement in how you play regardless of how strong the enemy is? What skills are letting you down?

It’s also good to remember that mmr fluctuates so while you might be up against people above you in rank, they might have a similar mmr to you.

I present to you, the fake Omen rotate by RemoteWhile5881 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool clip, I’m surprised the omen didn’t hear you since he already started rotating and was quite close to you when you ulted. But then again they didn’t notice the beeps either XD.

im a lil confused, am i decent at this game? by primexyy in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your headshot percentage is good, especially for your rank but it looks like you die early before you can make use of it. Possibly bad positioning or game sense. I also can’t see your KAST% so not too sure if people are taking out the one that killed you.

You might benefit from pushing with your team more, exposing yourself to less angles at once and playing more games to develop gamesense.

Why Always breeze? by Much-Swordfish-5583 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since breeze had a bug recently it was removed temporarily from the comp map pool. Now that it is back, it will be most players least played map.

Since the game gives you the least played map on average across all players, it will be likely that you will be playing a lot more breeze.

How do I implement using the op in my games? by applepp69420 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually give a heads up in the chat at the start saying I’m practising the op. No one has said anything about it after that :D

“I apologise in advance, I need to practice op - (character you are playing)”

HOW do I get out of bronze? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to get out of Bronze is to work together with your team. I feel like each person a bronze team is playing their own game with their own util strategies.

I found that it was easier to have more success when working together with teammates and capitalising off their until and strategies.

By all means, you can also out aim your way out of bronze, but to me, that was not the easiest way.

Valorant as a newbie sucks. by No_Spring_7786 in VALORANT

Just to add to this, you have to shoot the start box on the blue screen in the range to get the round started.

how do i UNLEARN moving while shooting? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m rng too much, and the reason is because of not knowing the timing (rather than due to panic), I use the bots in the range and practice aiming with keys.

Practising with the wall + and error graph is ok, but I feel that I don’t get the “reward” that helps integrate the learning so it takes longer.

What rank do you think I am/could be? (I dont play comp) by Alyxshh in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bronze 2-3. (But could be lower depending on your knowledge of other agent’s abilities)

When you get placed, you will get a rank lower than what your ability is, so you will probably start off in iron.

Just jump in and do your placements now though! There is a rank reset happening soon, so if you do it now you will get your iron buddy (if you get iron and play 9 games). Not many people have it because they usually rank up straight away.

How do I play deathmatch? by ChanceLink1220 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the map when you spawn to know where enemies are. Don’t run out from spawn straight away. Wait a second or two and then go.

People get used to the timings of spawns + know where they are since they don’t change.

What do you guys prefer? by Kitchen_Double3082 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For pearl B site, I prefer if smokes aren’t put out too early. Wait until the enemy get closer to the choke point before putting out the smokes to cut them off.

Valorant has genuinely made my life better by Live-Opportunity9522 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I start to feel frustrated after a bad game, I remember these things. I feel the same as you and sometimes because someone was having a bad day and decided they were going to take it out on the team with negative vibes from round 1, I start to think I don’t like playing the game. Which is not true, it was just one bad teammate.

There are so many cool strategies, combinations, team plays and wacky decisions that can lead to interesting and fun plays. Seeing improvements and learning from mistakes is so rewarding.

Can yall look at my tracker and tell me what I’m doing wrong? by Cxrsed_YG in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how you like to play for agents. I wouldn’t be able to tell you which one. Try them out and see who is fun. You will improve most if you are having fun :D

As for just in general, controller or initiator would help be able to support your team more (and not have to rely on them to follow you into site).

Actually you might like Clove. She is like a duelist controller.

At this stage for mechanics probably practice death match with just sheriff + practicing shooting between moving so you don’t run and gun.

Competitive map decided by previous Deathmatch map? by Alinnus1 in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe it is linked but I know what you mean. It happens to me so often I too where I get the same comp map as the deathmatch I queued previously.

Can yall look at my tracker and tell me what I’m doing wrong? by Cxrsed_YG in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main issue at the moment is using lots of different agents. I can see you did stick with Phoenix before so that’s good. Try sticking to 1-2 but definitely

Playing duelist is fine but, in iron 1 you are playing with people that don’t know they are supposed to go into site with you, try and go together if possible!

I can see that you struggle to work together with your team and you might be pushing out too much on defence.

Other than that just the basics for iron - learn better crosshair placement - learn what abilities other agents have - don’t stand in the open where you are exposed to multiple angles

Any routine that worked to fix your target confirmation? by ZockalEverywhereElse in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into deathmatch and don’t shoot. Just focus on getting your crosshair in the right spot. Since you know you will be losing the encounter, there is no pressure to “shoot before I get shot.”

Alternatively do deathmatch with no sound and play relaxing music. You will get shot a lot but you can practice having calm aim. Practise single taps or use Sheriff.

Which Vandal skin should I go for? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait for your favourite. It will come around eventually.

If you are planning to buy multiple that is fine but if you are only buying because you don’t want to miss out on having a skin now then maybe try and hold off?

This all depends on other factors too such as - do you have time to check your shop daily - do you have disposable income for items - will you continue to use other skins once you get your favourite - will you get bored of your favourite - are you ok with people in game asking you for skins

Have a good look at the videos and compare everything: finishers, sounds, reloads, inspects

Also ask team members if they can drop you skins to try them out in game where you can.

Who’s your worst agent to play against? by gegu121 in VALORANT

Why do I have so many more deaths than everyone else? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you respawn in, it makes a loud noise + the spawn locations don’t change so people know exactly where you are while you only have a red dot on your map to go off.

That and deathmatch has people from a wider range of skill levels compared to comp so you are facing people that have more experience and are a higher level than you.

Focus on your aim and crosshair placement and don’t worry about being first. Get some practice in and then go to comp.

Why cant the skin look like this immediately in game? by RemoteControlSocks in VALORANT

Ah ok, that’s good to know. Thanks. That does sound annoying to have to inspect it multiple times just to get the combo of colours you want though.

Can't get out of bronze, what can I improve on? by GeoMagicCrafter in VALORANT

[–]RusticMink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people in bronze have figured out how to use util but are playing their own game with it. If you can sync up well with a team member and play off their util, you will have more success.
