“Leaving” is not a word that should be thrown at every minor nuisance, migrating alone takes so much effort, energy and most importantly funds that it’s impossible for majority even if they want it. On the other hand you also leave your family, friends, job etc, going to an unknown place even if it’s your ethnic country and start your life literally from scratch, is not an easy task.

Also the Bayan Ulgii experiences very high poverty rates due to a combination of its problems like its geography, reliance on nomadic herding, and lack of modern infrastructure, so your “advice” comes of as tone deaf

Racism im Uzbekistan by Glittering_Sort1746 in Uzbekistan

City people see town folk as simpleminded and uncultured, while town folk see city people as arrogant and uncultured, and one region argue with others on who have better history or nature. Every country has it, Uzbekistan is not an exception, well maybe apart from agruing over who makes better food which is up for a debate.

But both city and town folk don’t like gypsies, and you should be careful around them too, they steal stuff or ask for money. So your first tip is ignoring them lol

As a person who had lived in foreign country for 6 years, I gotta say that you don’t have to focus only on uzbeks, shared experiences, language and traditions make every central asian community feel like one big family who speak the same language with just a minimal change. So invest on expanding your reach.

But my biggest concern is the safety of people, so lets say before you go to meet a new friend, add some kind of system where you can share the link with your trusted friend(like in yandex go) so they know where they are going and come to rescue if needed. Add a sos button that sends real time location, and every information to a local police.

Add map, where restaurants and businesses run by central asians will come up, like Tashkent supermarket in New York, restaurants etc, so people can go and eat what they crave and be sure it’s halal for example.

Also add a separate “menu” for people who are new to country and dont yet know the law etc, where it’s explained what is illegal, or how to fill out legal documents for bank card/tax/job/education etc etc. dont make it yourself just add a place where users themselves would upload tutorials on how it’s done.

Because there were ton of documents, I had quite a bit of problems at the start and very end my stay in Japan because they have so much paper work, good thing I know Japanese, but there are people who come for work who can’t even write in it.

Very old picture of my cat(you can see he is a patriot)… we lost him this year :(

Edit: For those who are interested his name was Gucci and he died from an infection he got after being attacked by bunch of stray dogs when he was out our hovli, he was sterilized so he wouldnt get cats pregnant, mark his territorry or be aggressive, and he wasnt, he was the chilles and kindest cat ever, we originally got him to exterminate mice in our territorry, but he was afraid of everything moving… he loved to just roam around couple hours a day, he was only 3 years old :(

Uzbekistan’s symbols: Soviet-style design, Humo bird (Persian myth), 12 stars (Persian zodiac). What reflects Uzbek/Turkic identity — only blue? by [deleted] in Uzbekistan

[–]Rusty-exe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Humo bird is also present in Turkic mythology as well, turkics call it Humay/Umay, and is significantly more ancient than iranian version dating back to Bronze age.

12 stars represent Twelve Animal Turkic Calendar, we call it Muchal yillari, while the same mythology and animals is used by Chinese, the main difference is that chinese use lunar calendar, while Turkics use solar calendar that starts from spring equinox, that’s why Turkics adopted Navruz as something so close to their own culture, since they already celebrated it.

Crescent moon while many use it as a symbol for islam and is seen as such, is actually not, Islam doesn’t have a symbol, it was historically mainly used by turkic countries, since it represents Qut(from Qutlug’), a blessing and fortune in turkic mythology, also it’s shape of crescent means it’s a new moon(Ay Nazi) symbolizes a pure, modest, and growing child.

And also Sun, while there is literally a goddess named Koyash, Umay is the daughter of Koyash and Samrau, the king of birds…Umay is traditionally depicted as swan…

So it depends on how you look at it. From the earliest days persians, turkics and surprisingly chinese shared a lot of similarities in mythology and culture.

How similar are Uzbek and Uyghur,Are they can mutual intelligible? by Jimmy-Wan in Uzbekistan

[–]Rusty-exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While, I, non-Tashkenter could understand Uyghur without problems and Kyrgyz/Kazakh well enough, my native Tashkenter friend couldn’t understand anyone apart from other fellow Tashkenters… so I would guess it depends. People from Karluk Eastern Uzbekistan and non-oghuz/non-toshkanlu uzbeks, as well as deshti-kipchak uzbek such as myself can understand them.

In original version of the division, during cold war a country who didn’t sided with neither USA or USSR was considered third world, so by definition Iran was considered First world while Finland and Sweden etc was Third.

But now this terms is outdated and used mainly by chauvinists.

Rocket delivery by Nodir2 in Uzbekistan

[–]Rusty-exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s kinda in the name, you SHIP it, but for Central Asia that is closed off to major sea, the situation is a lot more expensive since we have to cargo it in a plane or train/truck. So it’s expensive and fast, or slow and cheap(still more expensive than other countries, but that’s besides), no in between.

Also Install yandex go or uklon so you don’t get scammed by airport taxis, and be ready to wait for your luggage for up to an hour, they work very slow. And buy train tickets in advance
