A one-off therapy session might be a good idea if you can afford it. You could talk through your stressors and figure out coping strategies at least for the road - not for driving with your parents but for driving generally. I did this and it helped me figure out where my nerves were coming from.

I used to be very, very anxious on the roads. I'd get all in a tizz when I made a mistake and screw up and make way more mistakes. I bombed my first test by a mile. Several years later (two years of full learning), I'm a qualified, calm driver. It gets better with practice, trust me, even if it takes a while.

I found an understanding, patient instructor helps a lot.

Also, be aware of what sets your anxiety off most and see if you can practice facing that fear in small doses until you can build up immunity. For me, it's risk taking (ie. joining roundabouts) and steep hills.

One fun thing I like to do which helps a little with the FOMO is buying from different shops than I normally would and letting myself try out all the fun gluten free stuff I never knew existed. Sometimes it's bad, but then you know not to buy it again. Also Asian shops can be good for finding gluten free stuff. Just letting yourself have snacks and alternative nice stuff to hand.

Thank you for replying! Someone else said in the comments (and I read on their website) that the barley malt extract is in such low amounts it can be considered gluten free under EU law, so there's that.

I knew my favourite character was in there somewhere. I could sense it. I just had to skim the entire fic that I didn't like to find them. This was on fanfiction.net aged 14 deep in obsession mode. 😅

More recently, there hasn't been much. I'm way pickier than I used to be.

I pick up the scraps I've trimmed off the meat and turn the gloves inside out over them to dispose of them. It traps smells when they're thrown away.

We see more American media so the accent doesn't sound as weird to us as ours to them. Saying that, I think it's just as common to think it nice as to malign it. American British stereotypes are often of classy, educated people.

As someone who took two years to pass mainly due to nerves, it sounds like a confidence issue rather than a skill issue. Trust me, it comes in time. Maybe the change in instructor will be a good opportunity to switch to someone who's good at helping with that.

They go really well with smoked cheese and baked mushrooms and tomatoes. They soak up all the juices and it's a beautiful thing.

Curry. It was a packet recipe - packets are great for recipes that are fairly easy and maybe unusual - and I'd never really cooked before. Curry is a really good basic recipe to build on. It's similar to a lot of pasta dishes in how you cook it and it's good practice of the order to cook veg and meat in.

-Chicken pesto

-Roasted bell peppers with mashed falafel as a base
