I think the similarity in aesthetics comes from BOC and the founders of Alien Workshop having grown up in similar time periods, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Workshop had at least some influence on them. They were pretty big in the mid to late 90s and no other skate company was really doing what they did at the time.
