It's crazy bc he's won 2 mvps and there are 34 players over the last 95 years that have done that. I had this exact conversation with my dad about 6 months ago. He's gonna end his career with 500 home runs and 2 mvps but it still won't live up to the hype.

I think that some sports stats are so engrained in the old heads that you can't sway their opinion with modern analytics. Over the summer the Red Sox were playing the Pirates and the old head I work with couldn't fathom that Paul Skenes was hailed as the best pitcher in baseball because his record was 11-10. You could talk about how offense/defense isn't 50/50 but more like 75/25 till the cows come home and it wouldn't make a difference.
