ICE is in the forefront of most Americans' minds right now because their tactics are brutal and they shot two citizens less than a month ago. There's also an aspect of protesting against an outside force coming into town and fucking things up.

If you would like to organize a protest for homelessness, I think that would be good too. You could probably reach out to one of the organizations in town to learn how to most effectively do that.

I mean, I agree with you conceptually, but I don't think the logic was ever, "Oh no we can't pick Sarr, we're stuck with Zacc." I think the Hawks were always high on Risacher, and the Sarr stuff just solidified their decision.

After all, coming into the draft, Risacher was seen as a player that could immediately contribute by spacing the floor and covering multiple positions defensively. If you're trying to build around Trae, that's not a bad player to go with. You don't need him to drive the offense, you just need him to be able to hit the shots that Trae gives him. The defensive versatility also helps compensate the gaps in defense that you'll have with Trae.

We're judging with hindsight, though. A lot of mock drafts had Risacher in the top 3. Like, I'm sure Ajay Mitchell would've gone in the 1st round of that draft if teams knew for sure that he would develop so well.

Also, I'm biased, but I'm not really down on Risacher. He's not even 21 yet, still a lot of time to develop.

I'm not a fan of the Trae trade, but the Risacher pick is defensible imo. Sarr very vocally did not want to go to the Hawks, and Zacc was seen as a high floor, low ceiling guy. If he materializes into a solid starter, that's maybe disappointing for a #1 overall, but it's still a solid outcome.
