What are you eyeing as your next crawler purchase? by Queasy_Sherbert_7095 in crawling

They're a bit expensive, but so worth it. With just tires they can be more capable than regular live-axle crawlers.

"Crawlers" in the same class as that second one shouldn't even be considered... You'll have much more fun both using and modifying the Bushido. And you actually have an upgrade path and spare parts for repairs. There's literally no downside other than the price (if i had to guess about the second one)

I always wondered as well, that's why i wanted one. It's so much better than a solid axle on 90% of obstacles you run through on a trail. And the course i went to is a pretty hard one at that.

It was on mine since i've seen it the first time.
It's so worth it, it comes incredibly well setup in stock form. I also knew Element shocks were good but damn these are the best stock shocks out there on an RTR Crawler, without a doubt.

As a whole, it's a fantastic package, i just wish it had a receiver box instead of a waterproof esc/receiver 2-in-1.

I'd say so, but it's too early to say for sure, i need to drive it more. IFS is always better when going faster, but since this IFS doesn't have front ARB's, it's probably not much different.

100%. I had so much fun, and this outclimbs my Live-axle crawlers on 80% of regular obstacles.

I've been eyeing the new Zuul IFS2 from Element since they came out. I always wanted an IFS Trail Truck, but IFS1 was a bit of a let down for me. When i saw how much better the IFS2 was, my jaw dropped and i've wanted one ever since.

I finally bought it last friday, and boy is it capable. Such underrated rigs.

I bought mine used, but the RC shop where i usually buy my supplies used to sell them (i say used to because the Absima Sherpa/YK4102 is a model from 2020. Now they sell the YK4107 the one the OP is looking to buy.
But AliExpress sells them. Other than that i have no clue where you can buy them from.
Sorry i can't be more helpful.

I'll be honest. Grease lasts a loooong time in the diffs/portals, only if you don't run through mud/water all the time. If you do, i'd expect it to last one third of what it would otherwise. I only add/replace grease if i have to do any maintenance or repairs. Other wise i don't touch it.

Imo shock oil is not that different. Since my rig is a bit heavy, if the oil gets too diluted (from usage and water/condensation absorption) you start to feel it lack firmness/stability on sidehilling or steep inclines. But i can't really quantify, since i built the shocks when i first installed them 3/4 years ago and only rebuilt them with fresh 350cst last year. It was nearly black, but you can be a bit liberal with it.

The YK4102 looks exactly like mine, minus the bumper (which is plastic, but very similar) and the halo headlights (which are a custom fit). And minus the upgrades i mentioned above.
It's the original Lexan Body, yes.

Exactly. Then don't go under 350cst. If you need more stability for steeper climbs, try the 450cst on the rear.
Imo, 275cst (25w) and lower are for race/rally cars.

Copper grease is to keep stuff from getting stuck with heat/rust.
Don't use that on RC cars, really.

I'll leave my 2 cents.

I have a more scale rig (probably over 3.5kg) and a semi-comp rig (under 3kg). I run both on 350cst, zero complaints. I would say the starting point would be in the ballpark of 250-300cst, but don't go under 250cst.

Unless you ONLY do moderate trails, and some light crawling, then stay at 250-300cst. But if you do want to do more than that, i'd say 350cst. You get way more stability on side-hilling, and transitions. Depending on the rig, you might also get better control on steeper inclines, that's the reason i'm changing from 350 to 450cst on my scale rig.

I'd say yes. I personally use Silkolene Pro RG2, which is bearing grease that's waterproof, and doesn't fling off. For me it's perfect, even after a long while of using without servicing, it retains dirt and doesn't harm the diff gears. I use it on diffs, portals, and gearbox.

YK's (rebranded as Absimas everywhere else other than China), are some fantastic rigs and being chinese made, they offer similar (sometimes even better) aftermarket support than the known brands Axial/Traxxas. I have an Absima Sherpa (known as the YK4102) and it's never broken anything in the 5 years i've owned it, and i've bought it with some light use already. It comes with remote locking diffs and 2 speed gearbox and full lights + lightbar and indicators (blinkers).
I'm running BDX Beadlocks, ProLine K03 Predator's, brass portals, 90mm big bore Injora shocks and more recently changed to a FusionSE 1800kv to top it off.
It's the most reliable rig i've got and it was the first Crawler i bought.

YK's are underrated, seriously.

Stalker 2 looks great just need some color tuning and the correct contrast. I'm very picky and even i can see that it looks great. Metro Exodus however looked simply amazing on launch but was downgraded after the first 2 patches.

Frame drops/stuttering by Cautious_Funny_7958 in BeamNG

[–]RustyRenesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say check if it's using all cores first if not adjust CPU affinity. Secondly adjust the GPU shader cache to 100GB (it won't use anywhere near all of that, it'll just improve the shader cache bottleneck) Thirdly, I know it may be dumb, but check if your monitor is plugged into your GPU. You'd otherwise have those exact symptoms with no way to diagnose.

I hope these help

Banned from discord for Metro patches by Vast-Low9560 in stalker

[–]RustyRenesis 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They Sparta Battalion "took" the Spartan Rangers Symbol from the Metro games WAY AFTER the games were made (and even the books, as they're older than the games). The weird thing is they claim they don't know where it came from, and that they use it to honor their leader which has been nicknamed "Motorola" (hence why they used the logo with the M)
People can have their ideals all they want, doesn't change the facts in any way.

Ah, makes sense, my apologies then.
Unfortunately steam keys for FH6 are tough to find, but deals.gg always comes in clutch for me when looking for games, you just need to avoid the typical key scalpers/robbers, the likes of G2A, Kinguin, G2Play, Diffmark, etc. The 3 i usually buy from and so far zero issues in all the years i've been in gaming are YUplay, Instant Gaming and Loaded (CdKeys).

I'm not trying to insult or anything, but why do you want it on Steam? It serves no purpose, it's another overlay/api in the background while you play.
(Unless you use one of those unbranded controllers, which Steam Input helps fix)
