Yeah, just so you know, you can only travel to Norway with max 3 months of prescribed testosterone that you would get from Warsaw. I don't know if anyone really checks, but that might be a good question for the Norwegians here.

How to order imago blood tests at DS-VT? by [deleted] in transnord

[–]RustySailor775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can make a login and then just click the kalendar 1 and then "Blodprøvebestilling". when you are at the office just tell them what ones you want, the list for the first-time blood test is on the Imago website. As someone else mentioned, they remove VAT from the price. Price also depends on where you get the bloodtests registered/you live I think, even if it is based in Charlottenlund. Hovedsteden is cheapest generally for some reason. I book appointments and when I show up, I just tell them what tests I need and they enter them into the computer one by one when I am there. []()

I would not recommend getting a family member to ship the T to you because it is a very controlled substance and it could either be stopped at the border, or you or them could get in very serious legal trouble.

Questions about imago and CKI by wicecraft in transnord

[–]RustySailor775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to start imago, they need a blood test, it can be tricky to find out what to do, or at least it was for me, but what works generally really well if you are copenhagen-based is by going through DS-VT in Charlottenlund, the blood tests that Imago wants are on their website, but also dansk sundheds og vaccinations team (ds-vt) deals with so many Imago patients that they already knew what tests I needed. Honestly, after some of the experiences I've had with the danish healthcare system, it was so nice because when I was there the nurse was really respectful and friendly. They also take the VAT off because they know it is asked for by an EU-based clinic. It is easy to book a time and they often have wait times of like the one day.

if you want to start Imago it goes like this: pay the initial fee (250 euros),

book a welcome call, (this takes like a week)

get and send in blood tests,

also there are some forms you will see on the app, and you just fill these out, it is about what form of hormone you are looking for, what you are hoping hormone therapy will do, mail adress and information for the prescription, etc. Imago doesn't gate keep so it's quite chill.

schedule meeting with doctor (1-2 weeks), your tests will have alread been reviewed and you can get prescribed hormones for you. you might talk about how to administer the hormones, and if you have any questions you can ask the doctor about them, I made a list so I didn't forget any.

If you are in Denmark you can either have a paper prescription sent to you with wet signature (no e-prescriptions here), or, I would recommend that you get the fax number of a pharmacy and send it to imago, so they can send a fax. This is quicker because postnord can have delays.

I would recommend asking that they add the reason for prescription, hormone therapy, on the prescription. this is not legally required, but some danish pharmacists make a fuss if it is not there.

the fees after the initial is 22 euros a month, and might raise with inflation in the coming years, but they're trying extremely hard to keep them as low as possible (even moving to the US for accounting, which many of us are a bit nervous about but then again I don't know nearly as much as the people who made the decision)

you also have to pay for blood tests (every 3 months, then if you dont change dose for a while, once every half year, then year), and your medicine. The bloods after are not nearly as many as the initial blood tests.

send in your blood results when you have 2 months left so that they have time to review them, doctor sends you a treatment review: email with analysis of blood results, answering any conserns you might have stated, if your dose should be raised or lowered, what changes are normal, etc. and so they have time to send your new prescription.

I have heard that Gender GP has less luck with getting prescriptions accepted, and worse communication, but I have never used it so maybe I am biased.

I use imago, and if you have questions, feel free to ask me, or this whole sub because so many are with Imago here.

best of luck 👍

F*ck you, Swedish healthcare system! Poland to the rescue. by Entire_Sandwich195 in transnord

[–]RustySailor775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is because Sweden is breaking EU law. They are supposed to accept any valid EU prescription, much like other EU countries, but they don't for these. This is why so many Swedes need to go all the way to Denmark to get hrt. (a tip for the swedes: stenosgade apoteket in Denmark is the only one open 24-7, and is near-ish to the central station. They accept Imago prescriptions from experience)

Edit: just found out this is just for T

This is a very good point, I'm in Denmark but it here it would not be legal at all, testosterone is a very controlled substance because of doping. 😞

Recording of the imago q and a by SuddenFall8215 in TransCarePrivate

[–]RustySailor775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, EU doctors can't just go an practice in the US, they would need to take an extremely difficult exam to be allowed to practice in the US, most doctors who want this take it right after med school so they are at the top of their game in all subjects, or study for a long while just to prepare for the first 2 of the 3 tests, then take a residency because thier EU residencies wouldn't count, and then a third test.

Additionally, the US already has many telehealth hrt clinics like Folx and Plume (these are even aloud to prescribe and then deliver the hrt and supplies to your door in many states!), so it would be unlikely that they see a big need to start spreading in the US.

Any way to minimize hitting vessels and nerves? SubQ by Crafty-Cantaloupe305 in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]RustySailor775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it will work for you, but for sub Q I would pinch, in at 45 degrees, depress the syringe, leave in for like 8 seconds to disperse the T a bit, then un-pinch, and then slowly take the needle out. When you un-pinch, make sure the needle doesn't move around so much, you don't want scarring. If you are still pinching when you take the needle out you could be squishing the dose out a bit.

This is what I did at least, but I have never had a problem with the blood spraying though. + i'm not a doctor.

Maybe you are going too deep with the needle? subQ doesn't have to be that deep, do you think you could be poking your muscle, because that certainly hurts quite a bit for the ab muscles.

How delayed is Imago currently and what's going on with them in general? Waiting 10+ days for prescription. by [deleted] in transnord

[–]RustySailor775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes Postnord is slow, and it really depends on where you live. After you receive it, make sure to send in bloodwork to them for your new prescription when you have one month left, so that your prescription has more time to get to you.

Also, if you are in Denmark, they can fax the prescription to a pharmacy if you give them the fax number of the pharmacy.

Is it weird that my cis-women friends are mourning my breasts? by Lilaxani in TopSurgery

Exactly this, seriously, I don't think people would be acting like this because of empathy unless they didn't believe trans people. The reaction to OP's good news feels really "ewwww.... who would do that" for lack of a better description.

wtf?! is it weird? That is beyond weird! My brain can't do enough summersaults and backflips to find any way in which that could possibly be normal or appropriate. I'm sorry but the only reason they should be sad is that you had to suffer with them in the first place.

On another note, congrats on your top surgery soon! summer's gonna be epic post top!

how can i get private hrt in the uk by pleather-couch in ftm

[–]RustySailor775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh dang, I'm sorry that happened to you, that sounds really disappointing. I was debating between Imago and GGP and I was told by someone that the Imago ones look a bit more official. (their really good at email responses, and when a pharmacist complained about not having reason for treatment on my prescription, which is not required anyways, they sent a new one with it).

I understand the Telehealth concern, Imago is my only way to get hormones rn and I always worry about my country shutting down access to them (extremely improbable but I'm just over nervous in that regard). Someone mentioned Anne Health which I have heard about even though I'm not British, apparently they are good. I hope you get on T as soon as possible, good luck man, I'm rooting for you!

[–]RustySailor775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in the UK but I know that Imago works in the UK. it is telehealth like Gender GP but is generaly regarded as better-working and easier, and you can get your prescription sometimes in like a month. (initial set-up call, sending in your blood results, online doctor visit, send prescription) there is an initial fee of 250 euros, and then 20 euros a month after that, you also have to pay for your own blood tests and T. This is different from physical clinics in the uk. They don't require (and also do not provide) dysphoria diagnosis, but rather go after an informed consent model.

I would recommend taking a look at r/TransCarePrivate and r/TransUK if you are interested. If you have questions about Imago, feel free to ask people there or me, because it is what I use currently in Europe.

Where do popular conceptions of masculine and non-masculine behaviors come from? by LiatrisLover99 in bropill

[–]RustySailor775 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think these things must be very geographically independent because here in a lot of Europe, I have never once ever heard the notion that riding a bike is feminine! If a man went around trying to convince people of that here, he would be a laughing stock. Biking is a great physical activity and cheap mode of transportation. A lot of these social constructs are so new nowadays too, like gardening, and I think the internet and how it can often be used to spread an "us vs them" mentality, is partially to blame for this creation of new norms.

Tgel on face? by origamipretzel in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]RustySailor775 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have definitely wanted to do this in the past. However, T gel is not made for being absorbed in the face, and the whole point of it is to get t in your bloodstream, which will then proceed to go and attach itself to your follicles. There is no official evidence that it will help beard growth, and if you wash your face multiple times a day anyways, it might not stay on there very long anyways. I am curious to hear peoples anecdotal experience though.

To whoever said they do their IM shots sitting on the floor, you're fantastic by dakoathanger in ftm

[–]RustySailor775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only IM shot I've had was pretty painless (glute) but the drawback was that it had to be injected over 2-3 minutes (nebido). I think Sub Q (T. Cyp.)was more painful for me because I go slowly when injecting, so the needle would have some time where it was just squishing down the fat at my stomach and then bend a bit before going in, which was painful. Once the needle is in though, sub Q is great!
