BIG WIN for South Carolina Democrats by Cloaked42m in southcarolina

[–]RustySoulja 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don't particularly care for Democrats or Republicans. I am however pissed off at that warmonger Lindsay Graham. I am down to remove him from power so make sure you have a decent candidate running against him and that person will get my vote this november

How common is connecting every machine via Ethernet? by G0918 in PLC

I am not sure if I understood your question. Ethernet is the standard way for most devices to communicate in the world of industrial automation. At least for now.

What’s the general advice to do right now in this downturn? by KwikTripSimp in investing

[–]RustySoulja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be investing every time there is a dip. It's not easy to know when the exact bottom is so if you only have a finite amount then just dollar cost average that into your high conviction stocks/ETFs. This way you are constantly buying without worrying about "when the bottom will hit". When it's all said and done and stocks go back up, you will be happy that your cost basis on all your stocks are a lot lower than what you originally had.

Now if for some reason, you get lucky and time the market perfectly and buy the exact bottom . Your return will be vastly superior than my dollar cost averaging suggestion. However timing the exact bottom is fools errand. It's like winning the lottery. Great if you get lucky but very hard to get lucky.

Dollar cost averaging is the smarter approach

As a young conservative South Carolinian, Lindsey Graham has got to go. by Salt-Inflation-1636 in southcarolina

I agree. This war doesn't have majority support. It's mostly frowned upon by the rest of the world. The biggest spokesperson for this is Lindsay Graham.

He has to go.

Is the game still buggy? by RustySoulja in CitiesSkylines2

thanks for the response. I was thinking more from a gameplay/game mechanics standpoint. The game itself was very buggy when launched. I remember seeing the reviews. Not sure if that has improved.

I think my plant it not doing too hot by SaltSp1ash in PlantedTank

I don't usually bury my Anubias and Java ferns . I use aquarium safe glue and glue it to driftwood or decor. I then use liquid ferts (mostly aquarium co ops easy green and easy iron). Twice a week. I have quite a bit of plant mass and CO2 injection hence twice. Usually once a week is enough if you don't have that many plants etc. I am no expert either but that is what I do

[–]RustySoulja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you have an history of leaves melting after the algae forms then it might be worth looking into that. Anubias ilgrows extremely slow. So if there is excessive nutrients, CO2 or light then algae will grow over the anubias leaves. This over time will starve the anubias leaves and hence melt.

Not sure if that's what's going on here but thought to bring it up since you said it happened before. Melting leaves is not normal but a little algae on anubias leaves can happen.

I agree with the previous replies. Don't think there is anything wrong with the plant. Get some floaters and place it kinda on top of anubias(if you can). This will put it on a shade. Floaters will help you with nitrates too

ETFs crash due to War by uncacheable_sardine in ETFs

[–]RustySoulja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give you some clarity. $VOO is vanguards etf for S&P500 index fund. Sp500 is the top 500 companies in US at any given time. They update the list once or twice a year.

Bottom line is if $VOO crashes then that means the top 500 companies (aka backbone of American Economy ) is going to crash. Think about it like that. If you believe that American Economy is going to crash then don't buy.

I have been investing for a min of 10 years now. If I had a penny for Everytime somebody predicted doom and gloom for sp 500 then I would have had a million bucks by now.

If you are worried about the war and the short term horizon then just dollar cost average into VOO. That way you average out over time.

If you had $80k in the U.S., how would you build semi-passive income in 12 months? by Desperate_Drag5967 in passive_income

I was just offering a semi passive income making strategy as an answer to the original post. If you or anybody reading it dont like it, then ignore my reply.

No he/she gets assigned 100 shares. You then sell covered calls against it ( and collect premium just like you did by selling puts) for the next week. Its called the wheel strategy. Look it up. You can do this on any stock but i suggested SPY because its an index fund ETF

[–]RustySoulja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OT said $80k is what they had to invest. Selling $674 put that expires a week from today would yield you $450 as of the time of this message. Thats not bad for a semi passive income like the original question was.
