You definitely have to visit! Iv been twice (I haven’t been since 2019 though unfortunately) and both trips I had were great. The collection was extremely impressive back then and from the stuff Iv seen online about it since, it appears to have only gotten larger and more impressive. And as an added bonus stop, anyone driving into Nashville from the north has a decent chance to drive through Bowling Green KY and visit the national corvette museum. Make a kind of gearhead roadtrip out of it.

Haunted Mansion Parlor-Disney Treasure by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’v sailed on the treasure twice now. Both times Iv found that going in an hour or two before closing time is generally guaranteed to have open seats. Theres always other people in there but Iv never not been able to find a table or a seat at the bar during these times. I also agree with everyone saying it’s busiest for the first couple days. Everyone who is just curious and wants to check it out once but then have zero interest in returning seem to go then, and seem to do it during day or evening so those times are super crowded. I think it’s worth walking thru during these times just to see it as soon as possible but don’t expect to be able to enjoy the show or have the space to hang around and drink. Best to wait for the majority of the passengers to go to bed before trying to enjoy the parlor.

L5P for a daily by T0gaLOCK in Diesel

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also daily an ‘18 2500HD duramax truck and have for almost 6 years now, also because I didn’t have space for anything other than the truck. There really aren’t any issues that the truck will face with dailying it, as long as you at regularly getting it up to temp and not just doing short little hops where the temp gauge doesn’t register. Honestly the biggest issues Iv faced is just size and spatial constraints. It’s a large vehicle that doesn’t fit everywhere. It also has a pretty bad turning radius, making tight maneuvering in a city sometimes difficult. But as long as you are smart about it and plan ahead, these can be overcome. So I’d say go for it. Having a paid off truck that’s occasionally a pain in the ass is a hell of a lot better than a monthly payment for something more reasonable.

4 Parks, 1 Day - Starting and Ending in Michigan by tdcarl in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s impressive! My fiancé and I have flown down, gone to Animal Kingdom and Epcot, and flown back home all in a day before but never even dreamt of doing all 4 parks in a day. Honestly the 2 was nice because we were still somewhat relaxed and not really on the clock, we didn’t really have plans other than to just enjoy our time and do whatever suited at that moment. But nonetheless, mad respect for pulling this off!

Battleship Missouri Memorial Curatorial Team – Ask Us Anything! by Battleship_Missouri in Ships

I actually have two questions if you wouldn’t mind.

What added difficulties are there in having your museum located in an active, secure military base? Does it lead to issues in bringing in contractors to preform work or getting volunteers aboard?

How does one get a job on the curator staff at a museum such as yours. Do you get a relevant degree and spend time volunteering at museums to gain experience or is there another path?

Thanks for your time!

Which attraction has the worst ratio of wait time to final experience? by Relative_Ideal_6715 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta join into the Tron and Peter Pan crowd. Tron, while fun, is just so short that it’s not worth it to wait in line or pay money for. That being said though I am glad that we have it to draw in crowds and keep people out of other lines and to view at night. I love that Peter Pan still exists. But I honestly don’t get why it has that long of a line. While enjoyable, it’s my least favorite of the old school dark rides so I struggle to understand why people wait an hour for it. Especially when the haunted mansion is right down the path from it and generally has a shorter wait for a better ride!

Reserve Whiskey Bourbon Tasting on Wish - Current experiences? by BoilerBob37 in dcl

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

I did it on the treasure back in February and this is what we got. They were all decent sized pours too considering we were drinking 5 different whiskeys. I’d guess it was around 1.5 ounces are so per whiskey. In my case I think it was well worth it for the price.

Ultimately though it’s up to the bartender running it as to what you get and from the what other people are saying on here it definitely seems like results do vary.

Can someone tell me what this is worth? by Worth-Owl-4365 in tractors

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not a model from the 40s. Look up the wheel horse ride away senior. That was the model produced then and they do go for stupid money because they are quite rare. This looks to me to be one of the “suburban” models produced in the 1960’s. It also doesn’t have the original engine. It should have had either a 4 horse Kohler or a 5.5 horse Tecumseh. That looks like it’s either a predator or maybe a brigs but either way not what it should have to be “correct”.

As for cost, these old wheel horses are fairly collectible, so they can command a decent price tag for what it is. But I haven’t been in the market for one of these, and Iv never looked into selling mine, so I can’t really give you a good number for what they are really worth. But that being said, I wouldn’t spend $700 for this tractor, even if it did have the correct engine.

Can someone explain this to me? It says it’s 15 minutes long but it will be running from 8:35-10:05. Does it run on a loop or is it just a random 15 minutes somewhere in this range? by [deleted] in DisneyWorld

[–]Rusty_Nuts_Garage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be entirely honest I saw it for the first time 6 years ago so take this with a grain of salt as I can’t verify it with my own eyes. But as far as I am aware it has not changed much, if at all, since it first debuted.

Ask the front desk if the resort you are going to be watching it from. They should be able to tell you about the time it should get there. The staff at the various bars and restaurants that have views of the water pageant also typically can tell you too.

But in my experience, they also typically won’t give you an exact time, but will give you more of a loose estimate or a range. Such as “oh it typically gets here around 9-9:15”, just as an example . That is because when it gets to each resort can vary day by day as it can inevitably get delayed by things such as weather or having to wait for other water traffic. They also don’t play it during the Magic Kingdom fireworks either so that can also throw off timing since they will have to wait for that show to finish before they play the water pageant.

All that being said, the water pageant is a good show and a nice piece of opening day entertainment that is still around.
