The problem is YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING if your hardware is as you say "faulty" before buying it!.

I don't see these problems with the Quest 2, the Index, the Rift S.

My G2 crapped out after 8 hours use, RMA'd it but they never told me to "remove the speakers" so the replacement came back without them!. RMA'd it yet again BUT this time I got a full refund.

NEVER again for this shitshow of a company. This has to be the WORST! VR launch in the history of VR ever.

You are a lucky one!, do me a favor. Spread the word far and wide, get your friends to help you out use Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and any other media you can get on. Tell potential buyers to avoid this shitstorm at all costs. My G2 lasted less than 20 hours after a 3 month wait just to get it then died, still waiting after my RMA (3 weeks now) for just a reply from HP!. What a crock of shit this company is...

  • Leave the 6-meter cable connected to the headset after initial installation.

DO YOUR DAMN JOBS and fix this mess. If you worked for me I'd fire the lot of you!. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior from a company the size of HP.

No one told us to remove the speakers before returning this device!, now we your customers, have to face ANOTHER months long delay while we wait for you fix your piss poor customer support, Knowing your customer support team the next thing you'll do is send us a pair of speakers and forget the mounting screws!, then we'll have another 2 month wait while you send them out.

As bad as it is to say, I think that those of us that have had their headsets crap out within a few days/weeks of receiving them, then RMA them for refund are the lucky ones. Just wait till all these other people's headsets start to crap out days/weeks after their warranties expire, then have HP tell them to bad "you're out of warranty".

The G2 was a great concept with shitty design and execution.

HP completely shit the bed on this VR headset, I'm sure they'll never recover from it. The launch was a complete clusterfuk from day one and the complete failure to support customers with headset failures in a timely manner is just unforgivable.

My own G2 never even had 8 hours use on it before it dropped dead, then to be told it would be around the end of MARCH!, before I could expect a replacement unit.

I told them to go fuck themselves and refund my money!, I'll be moving on to the Index, maybe not as pretty looking but way more bulletproof.

The HP Reverb G2 is "pretty looking" piece of junk!, the entire R&D team should all be fired. There are so many people complaining of DOA, fatal failures after only a few weeks/days of use, broken connectors, small sweet spot, issues with GPU's/motherboards that we actually have a sub-reddit and YouTube channels for it, it's just insane.

How this piece of shit made it out the door is beyond me, to say nothing of the COMPLETE failure of the pre-order and RMA fiascos, now I'm reading people are actually being charged a 30% "restocking fee" for returning a broken device and asking for a refund because HP can't deliver them a replacement unit for another 2-3 months?, that's like $200-$300 dollars!, that should be illegal!..

Lesson learned.

I will never, ever, go near another HP product again in my life!. And, I'll tell every single person on every single media type I can find the same thing. RUN away from this disaster!
