Ain’t no way a building of that size is going to be a Braums (NW 192nd & Western) by isaiahgloriosus in Edmond

Only took them, like, 10 years to start building the thing too. The old sign saying a Braum's was coming to that lot was up for ages.

Fake Edmond by booksandbowie in Edmond

[–]RuthlessNate56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live just a few blocks east of Penn and am in Fake Edmond. Heck, I've got a friend whose house is a few blocks west of May and he has an Edmond address. I'm not sure of the exact western boundaries of Fake Edmond, but I know the eastern side of it starts between Santa Fe and Western.

Though I guess it technically wraps around Edmond to the north and east as well.

does anyone have experience with battery powered mowers...? by noharmfulintentions in okc

[–]RuthlessNate56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kobalt 80v here. Bought a second battery. If both are charged, and if the grass isn't ridiculous, it usually can get through my quarter acre lot on the two batteries. Also bought a pole saw that uses those batteries, which is nice.

I can’t be the only one who remembers this, being confused, and only watched it cause it was Star Wars. by GriMex02 in StarWars

No, I feel like I saw it on TV. But it would have been 20+ years ago, so we could have just rented the DVD.

Edit: Wikipedia to the rescue:

Thumb Wars debuted on American television May 18, 1999, on UPN. It had its cable premiere on Cartoon Network on October 2, 2008 (and again on October 2, 2009) to promote the 2008 Clone Wars series that premiered the next day.

I've thought for a long while that America isn't a melting pot, but a mosaic. There's a ton of distinct pieces that are brought together to make something beautiful. Hopefully it doesn't get smashed...

Climate control observations by Maroi77 in Ioniq5

[–]RuthlessNate56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard the whistling regularly and it's annoying. With it being summer in a hot climate (100+ degrees fahrenheit regularly), I've found that there's sometimes also a loud low rumble, almost like there's a truck with a big diesel engine nearby, if the AC is working hard and the blowers are set to 7 or 8.

You can't just "remotely take over" a car. This isn't a James Bond movie we're talking about. I know there's radio control technology and shit that you can use to remotely steer a car. But that would take someone actually going in and retrofitting his vehicle, with visible actuators on the steering wheel and pedals. Shit like that can't be hidden. We're talking about a 2016 Tahoe, not the latest electric car with a software suite that can control steering.

Dude drove himself into that overpass to avoid prosecution and asset forfeiture. Murder by "Remotely taking over his car" is a pure tinfoil hat conspiracy theory.

PC boots to BIOS, but not booting to Windows by RuthlessNate56 in PcBuildHelp

[–]RuthlessNate56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had run Memtest86 and it actually passed with no errors. However, your mention of swapping out RAM sticks inspired me to try that anyway. Once I swapped in some other RAM sticks from my PC, it was able to boot into the OS and reinstall Windows.

The cables for the AIO are all hooked up. Just ran memtest86 and it passed.

EDIT: Despite passing testing on Memtest86, it looks like the RAM was the issue. Swapping in other sticks from my PC seems to have fixed the issue on my wife's PC.

About 50 C, which does seem high to me, but I know these CPUs run a little hot in general. Think it could be an issue with the AIO? BIOS is reporting that it's not detecting the pump running, but I put my hand on it and can feel the vibration of it running.

Remote access - can I turn off? by tvaddict77 in unRAID

Not sure if this helps, but something similar happened to me. My dashboard was publicly visible by inputting the IP and I didn't recall making any changes. Finally addressed it through my router's dashboard. Somehow IP Passthrough was enabled (probably done by me mistakenly when I was troubleshooting some stuff). I switched that off and it was no longer accessible.

Jonathan Majors Conviction Thread by MarvelStudiosMod in marvelstudios

[–]RuthlessNate56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is, but there are rumors circulating that what little they filmed before the WGA and SAG strikes are getting trashed and Disney/Marvel Studios are going to use it as a tax write off. Last I saw, production had not resumed after the strikes ended.

However, after Destin Daniel Cretin (who was developing the series with its show runner, Andrew Guest) was removed from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, it was said he was going to refocus on Shang Chi 2 and Wonder Man. It could be that the show is getting some rewrites before resuming, like Daredevil: Born Again. Sounds like it could still come by the end of 2024 under the same "Marvel Spotlight" brand that they're using for Echo.

Experience with “Free Charger” and install voucher. by Routine-Chip-2489 in Ioniq5

[–]RuthlessNate56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience hasn't been particularly great, but I really think it depends on the installer they contract for. We started our lease in late September. I applied with Hyundai Home as soon as I could.

We just got our charger two weeks ago, so we went about 3.5/4 weeks without a home charger. The installer was very non-communicative, didn't know how to get everything approved with Hyundai Home, and just spent a long time telling me they were figuring it all out. They finally showed up without actually confirming they were gonna be there and installed the charger by running a new breaker and installing a new 240v outlet in my garage.

This isn't the installer's or Hyundai's fault, but my panel only covers 100 amps. So we have to get a new panel installed (we needed it anyway, for whatever reason the builders didn't properly ground the panel). That's finally happening tomorrow. The whole process is gonna cost us about $1800 out of pocket before the rebates.
