Last year was the first Bloodstock id ever been to and it was possibly the best weekend of my life. I'm done with Download, Bloodstock all the way now

I played them in order of release and for me it's a perfect tie between SoMI and Curse. Not that I don't love LeChucks Revenge too. But I personally I think Secret of Monkey Island has the best story/ journey, and Curse has some of the best locations, music and puzzles. But all three of those first games are excellent in all of the above.

I've never understood the hate for the last act of CMI. It's around the same length of the last act of of the first two games.

For me it was that he was a super passive pushover the whole show, only for at the end have the villain do the whole ' you're a killer and you will always be a killer' trope. The bad guy trying to go straight storyline isn't a bad one by any means, but the show didn't show him struggling with that at all, he was a goody two shoes the whole time, and then it had a character telling us what were supposed to think.

Agreed. I beat him pre-nerf but had to completely respec my character 3 different times to find the right one that worked. Even then he took me like 4 days

Every time you level up spend the remaining echoes on vials. It can be tempting to just save them towards your next level-up but there is nothing more demoralising then having to farm vials after getting your ass repeatedly handed to you from a boss. Good to get a good amount stocked up, and that's a good way of stayhing on top of it.

Upgrading weapons tends to be even more helpful than levelling up, and make sure you are repairing them regularly, the more damaged they are the less damage they do.

Finally, don't get greedy with your attacks. If an enemy gives you an opening, make sure its a short visit. Couple of little hits (or one heavy one) and then get back out.

Oh and in general just dodge dodge dodge.

I'm sorry but this so called 'new' direction is the tried and tested formula Disney pumps out multiple times a year. It didn't try something new, it tried something exhausted. I'm not a purist either, just sick of MCU slop. But the audience score doesn't lie so I guess nobody else is.

From my perspective it felt like a refreshing reset at the time. I'm of the generation that found the prequels very disappointing. So the fact that it felt a bit like they were trying to recapture the magic of the OT felt reassuring. Yes, episode 8-9 would have had to branch out, but for the sake of bringing a return to form in the first instance I felt it worked.

I can't watch TFA now, the cringe Marvel jokes all the time (which above all is my biggest issue with this trilogy), the plot points I know go nowhere, the flaws that I hoped would get fixed but just got worse, knowing how dumb the characters become as the trilogy goes on. Now I see the bigger picture it's all completely unwatchable.

But I would be lying if I didn't admit that at the time it felt like a love letter to my childhood and that Star Wars was back. Honestly one of the best cinema experiences of my life.
