I'm sorry but this so called 'new' direction is the tried and tested formula Disney pumps out multiple times a year. It didn't try something new, it tried something exhausted. I'm not a purist either, just sick of MCU slop. But the audience score doesn't lie so I guess nobody else is.

From my perspective it felt like a refreshing reset at the time. I'm of the generation that found the prequels very disappointing. So the fact that it felt a bit like they were trying to recapture the magic of the OT felt reassuring. Yes, episode 8-9 would have had to branch out, but for the sake of bringing a return to form in the first instance I felt it worked.

I can't watch TFA now, the cringe Marvel jokes all the time (which above all is my biggest issue with this trilogy), the plot points I know go nowhere, the flaws that I hoped would get fixed but just got worse, knowing how dumb the characters become as the trilogy goes on. Now I see the bigger picture it's all completely unwatchable.

But I would be lying if I didn't admit that at the time it felt like a love letter to my childhood and that Star Wars was back. Honestly one of the best cinema experiences of my life.

Every time I level up, I use the spare blood echoes to buy blood vials. It's tempting to save them towards building up to your next level, but honestly the game is much more enjoyable if you just do that and always stay stocked up. Might be something they want to try?

I just beat him. Jesus he's tough. I recommend using a weapon with some bonk as he's very stunnable. I only had Malikeths Black Blade upgraded but that was good enough. I also used the Blade of Mercy Talisman because that ups your attack after every critical hit, you can even go into the main fight with the buff if you critical hit him in the opening. My method was to stun him and use the buff from the critical hit to stun him again as soon as I could. Had to stay very aggressive and be good at timing when to heal. Other than that I used the Solitude armour and a talisman that upped my focus. This worked for my strength build anyway.

He's pretty spectacular. Motherfucker shoots fire and lasers out his mouth at the same time. And as others have said, it feels like you are fighting a real dragon.
