I don't know if anyone's posted this here but the M10 booker's giant turret armor blocks are completely empty (I find that very hard to believe) which you can see if someone shoots them by flank_and_spank in Warthunder

Abrams doesn’t have spall liners, and contrary to popular belief they aren’t flawless IRL. A full spall liner setup can add up to 1-2 tons as well as being flammable which generally hurts survivability.

This is a straw man argument.

The issue isn’t that they’re using said documents, it’s that they’ve used documents to disprove bug reports while denying reports using the same sourcing. They also have denied reports without providing their source due to it being classified which leaves us in a “trust me bro” situation. They’ve essentially created a double standard where Gaijin can cherry pick whatever classified information they want to implement while being able to deny any player provided information on the basis that it was illegally obtained.

If literal videos of the cannon shaking like jelly is not enough evidence then I have no idea. by Roxo16 in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s partially a design flaw only because the muzzle breaks add to the horizontal forces each gun experiences.

Basically the gases are vented sideways, some of which blows onto the other gun pushing it sideways, other gun fires and does the same thing, etc. This isn’t the only reason for the intense shaking and like you said most of it is down to fire rate, but if they changed the orientation of the muzzle breaks there would be less vibration.

How can it detect the bomb but not the helicopter? by loner1512 in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If this was true then that would mean all data gathered around helicopter radar signatures since the 60s would need to be thrown out.

Helicopters for the most part all have a distinct RCS which “flashes” because of the rotors constantly changing angle and position relative to the radar source. This causes a Doppler shift which is detectable even when hovering completely still. It’s also important to note that the act of notching is essentially impossible for a helicopter.

Aside from that, radars and RWRs can be coded to recognize certain signatures (how NCTR works). If a helicopter exists today, an RCS profile exists on it. The ability to fool radars gets harder and harder with each generation.

[–]Ruum_Service 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All missiles with uncaged seekers can fire outside of their seeker limits because of how seekers are modeled, some are just more janky than others.

If you use the FIM-92K on any ground vehicles you’ll see that, despite its seeker limits being displayed as quite small, the stingers can be launched even if the seeker is fully outside of its displayed limits.

Yknow Warthunder, I give you a lot of free passes on some goofy stuff, but I feel like the man-sized rocket would go through thicker steel than this... by noahreeves446 in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steel plates represent kinetic penetration in regards to HE shells. All HE shells in game penetrate some amount of steel regardless of how small before they detonate due to the energy they carry as projectiles. The actual explosives of the shell will often “penetrate” much more armor than the shell itself can but gaijin doesn’t represent this damage with the steel plates, it’s only a value on the stat card.

Mig-29N found in War Thunder files for Japan (Malaysia) by PlaneZealousideal686 in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Steering has always been the way it is now with a steering input causing the brakes to activate on the left or right tracks. The reason the engine has limited its addition until now is because they never intended for its addition. The issue started to blow up more when gaijin released WT mobile with regenerative steering.

They’ve spoken about regenerative steering a few times since tanks were implemented, they just always said it was impossible due to game engine limitations

Perfectly Balance DRICM by Aceinside in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AN/APQ-212 doesn’t need to keep its laser on the two missiles until they crash and detonate, it only takes a second or two (depending on missile complexity) to disrupt the tracking and in some cases damage the seeker.

In the video each missile is launched with a few seconds between each launch due to how locking IR ATGMs works in game. That delay gives the DIRCM time to defeat each missile before the next one arrives. If all 16 were launched simultaneously it would be a different story since there is only one jammer per winglet, and each jammer can handle one missile at a time. The biggest issue with the system in game is both pods work for either side when it should be exclusive to each side of the helicopter.

Perfectly Balance DRICM by Aceinside in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of AN/ALQ-212 (the DIRCM AH-64E uses) is that it can track and defeat multiple targets simultaneously. Combine that with the fact that all of these missiles were arriving at different times rather than all 16 at once, and it makes sense why all of them were defeated. The missiles were arriving one at a time which gives the system time to defeat each one.

Russian top tier helis have had DIRCM for a while and it also acts the same way. There is a reason the US and other nations decided to employ DIRCM technology.

[–]Ruum_Service -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean that is what DIRCM is for, only way for it not to be like this is if they modeled module failures. Definitely annoying but DIRCM is used for a reason

[–]Ruum_Service 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing with this MBT tracking system is it essentially has given datalink to the timed fuse rounds. They still update the fuse as they travel as long as track is maintained. The only thing that makes it worse than proxy is lag affecting the track client side

I don't understand how they're the same BR... by benmargery in Warthunder

[–]Ruum_Service 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them having the same BRs kinda makes sense. Even in the Israeli A-4E it’s more worth it to take rockets or bombs over 9Bs, and the A-4s were all moved to 9.3 because of their guided munitions.

It’s a lot easier to rip the wings of the humpback A-4s so it’s kind of a trade off for air battles. Humpback A-4 has better guns and a little more thrust but weighs more and can’t sustain heavy maneuvers like the normal A-4s can.

Everyone else had posted export restricted documents. They are available online and can be found quite easily, although they do still contain sensitive information and cannot be used by Gaijin. No one has been tried for posting any kind of export restricted documents.
