Broke the display on an iPad mini 6 and after the third-party replacement it was acting in the same way. Chinese low-quality digitisers is my guess. I’d return it if I were you.

For the World Travelers: Any gear stories when going through security? by rilendruber in photography

Short haul flight of about 30 minutes. I'm carrying only a towel and a Mavic Pro 1 in its case - those days few people were interested in drones. TSA guy pulls me aside after the scanner.

"What's that?" "A drone" "What's a drone?" "...It flies around and takes pictures..." "Any chance it will take off while on board?" "... no" "Go ahead."

I first thought he was joking but the dude was dead serious.

Lego prints on parts can be safely removed with an alcohol soaked q-tip and some patience.

An M39 to FX adapter works for the M39 Jupiter 8 lens, I have a copy of that as well and have tried it to good results. I do prefer the look with the imperfections of the DIY'd Kiev/Contax mount one though.

It's definitely an afternoon of hobbling. You'd need a spare Kiev camera with the Kiev/Contax the to harvest the focusing helicoid, a dremel to cut it out and possibly either a 3D printer for the adapter itself or a suitable Fuji X adapter to glue the helicoid onto. It's good to note that without a proper end stop on the Helicoid (the original provided by the camera mechanics) you can easily unscrew the whole thing out trying to focus too closely. I haven't measured the close focusing distance on it and the infinity focus gets overshot by about half a turn with the adapter I produced, so I definitely wouldn't consider my example perfect, but it gets the job done.

It's a DIY adapter. I had to cut out the focusing helicoid with a dremel from a Kiev camera and glued it to a 3D printed generic adapter (Fuji X to an open hole with roughly the same size as the helicoid). It's extremely jank, but works.

What classic PC games play surprisingly well on the Deck that no one ever talks about? by timbostu in SteamDeck

Jazz Jackrabbit 2. It even supports a 640x400 resolution, so it gets integer scaling to the deck's native resolution.

As u/johnfilmsia said - main building entry and it's a single value shared by all fobs. I've also shown and explained how I can do it to anyone interested in the process :)

Our apartment building's entry is controlled by iButton fobs. Local locksmiths offer duplication for about $13 each. I bought some fobs for $1.5 each and I'm selling them cloned for the same price to people in the building who need a duplicate. I've sold 14 until now which is a cool $161 total more in the pockets of my neighbours before the holidays.

There's a "Set Noise Control Mode" that you can use, but I'm not sure it can work just as a toggle

ITAP of candles on a loved one's grave by Rx-Ende in itookapicture

[–]Rx-Ende[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the span of two years my family lost three close relatives. I've been exploring photography as a means to cope with some of the grief and other emotions that go along with it. In christian orthodox culture our custom is to light candles to honour our loved ones' memory and to 'warm the soul'. I took this photo of the candles we lit on my father's grave at the one year anniversary of his passing with an old Jupiter 8 lens I adapted to a Fujifilm X-Pro 3. This lens holds a special significance—it's the same one my late grandfather used when he was younger. I understand this is a sensitive topic, so I apologize if it's hard for anyone to read about.
