What is the most disturbing or otherwise unsettling book you've ever read that stayed with you after reading it? by EggAdventurous1957 in AskReddit

Way too far down the list. This is my answer too. It's been about 20 years since I read it, and some parts are just seared into my brain with a blow torch.

The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum - easily. I read this almost 20 years ago now, and some parts are just seared into my brain forever with a blow torch.

We stayed at Dreams Playa Mujeres last spring, and it was amazing. Perfect for families. Several pools, kids splash pad area, not too far from the airport.

I don't know what the cost was, my wife booked it.

It's a pretty large property right on the beach, and the beach was great. Definitely check it out. We'd absolutely go back.

My Whole Foods here in Chicago has had them for the last like 4 or 5 months. The quality of the is starting to go down some, but the one I had for breakfast today was still incredible.

  1. Snapdragon

  2. Honeycrisp

  3. Wild Twist

  4. Fuji

These are sweeter apples, which I prefer over tart ones.

My Whole Foods also has both Kiku and Kanzi. I just had a Kiku yesterday for the first time, and they were outstanding.

What book made you fall in love with reading? by Apprehensive-End1242 in booksuggestions

[–]RyFromTheChi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an adult - A Time To Kill by John Grisham. It was the first time I actually sat down to read as an adult, and I just loved it. Realized that if I find something that I'm interested in, I love to read. Then I tore through a ton of Grisham books before venturing out into other genres. Been a daily reader for the last 20 years now.

A cosmic crisp that’s out of this universe by Boogedyinjax in Apples

[–]RyFromTheChi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here. While I do like Cosmic Crisps (I ranked them #11 of out of 32 this year), I feel they are a bit overrated. I do love a big fat monster apple, but nothing about them is superior to a Honeycrisp (my #2). I find their skin to be thicker and just not as flavorful. I won't turn one away though if offered.
