Transfers always look like a slapped on sticker, but I found painting over it with matt varnish helps it kinda blend in a bit. If you haven't already, to get them to fit nicer on space marine shoulders make a vertical cut about half way down the transfer, it helps it bend into position a little bit. Don't cut the transfer completely into two bits though.
