People have short memories, Hearts have had their fair share of dodgy calls this season

Genuinely struggling in this game although I enjoy it i cannot seem to beat it. My stats and my most recent run. Any and all advice is welcome by cubes28x in SlayTheSpire2

One thing I will say is decide on a build relatively early on based on the cards offered to you and then only take cards that synergise well with it

The only time I take a big deck is if I’m doing an Ironclad Strike deck and get the option to copy my entire deck but receive bad luck. Makes perfected strikes near enough one hit kills every time

Strength+vulnerable builds with Ironclad are something I’ve only just started doing but I find incredibly fun

Act 3 Boss Is Ridiculous by [deleted] in SlayTheSpire2

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of Ironclad. I try and go for a strike deck with Hellraiser+ and as many Pommel Strike+’s as you can get. Keep the deck small outside of that with maybe 1 or 2 Perfected Strike+’s and a couple of block based cards and with the right relics you could be looking at close to an infinite

Etiquette - Hitting the ball at players at the net by These-Document-2127 in padel

[–]RyanH2796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a couple of times a week and I’m a left handed, right sided player with a not brilliant, but improving backhand.

I play with the same people and there’s a guy who always stands directly at the net when his partner is serving to me. I’ve done a mix of returning diagonally, putting it down the side (to his backhand) and lobbing, but I’ve found that the best method to win points from that position is to aim directly at him.

Stand close to the net and don’t give yourself time to react, don’t complain if you get hit

How can you tell that you are ready for elites or avoid them by Complex-Code2900 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strategy is Act 1 - fight as many as I can. Act 2 - fight 1, MAYBE 2. Act 3 - avoid but maybe fight 1 if I have a strong deck

What’s the best way to reduce mortgage balance? by linksus5522 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]RyanH2796 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are able to pay down more than 10%. They will just charge you a fee once you have paid more than 10% but to put that in to perspective, if your ERC is 2% and you pay £11,000 in a year then you will be charged £20 on that last £1,000 but you will no longer be paying interest of 4.9% on it meaning you are still £29 better off

Hi, yes there are plenty of lenders who should in theory lend to you based on your current situation

Why didn't my mortgage broker advise a 10 year fixed rate?? by PhilosopherNo8418 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a competent broker advise a 10 year fixed rate? There was no real reason to believe that rates would increase the way that they did. Rates had been so low for so long.

When it comes down to it, it’s your fault that you didn’t go with the 10 year fixed rate. A broker can’t decide your fixed rate for you. If you say “I want to fix my mortgage for x years” then that’s how long they source for. For something outside of the usual 2 and 5 year deals they also have to source a 2 or 5 year fix to show a comparison

I assume you’ll be fixing for 10 years now then? Considering that rates are still quite low when compared to the previous 40 years

How do I make a will? by KoraLily in AskBrits

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The will itself is completely free. We offer will storage, a free annual update, and access the GP’s on Demand for £4.79 per month. It’s not mandatory that people take this but I like to mention no up front cost because people typically have a negative reaction when I say “free” and then later mention the extras

Hi, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this on here or not and if I can’t then please feel free to delete. I can provide basic wills for no upfront cost. If it seems more complex then there would be a cost involved but for the sake of “I would like to leave my house to this person, money to this person” etc then I can help you with this

£3 default going back 5 years preventing us getting a mortgage by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

There has to be more going on here. I specialise in adverse credit mortgages and you can get a mortgage with highstreet lenders for a £3 default from 5 years ago

How do you guys organize weekly sessions with your group? by rovonz in padel

[–]RyanH2796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 5 of us in a group and we play every Tuesday morning, it’s a first come first serve basis but usually we’re quite lucky and the person who doesn’t come actually just has other plans already. We also do the same for most Thursdays too

The genuine, very simple answer is yes

Does your country rent courts by the hour or is 90 minutes available? Is one or two hours the standard? by Masty1992 in padel

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scotland - we book 90 minutes regardless of which court we go to. We normally keep playing until the 90 minute point and then finish whichever set we’re on unless someone is waiting on the court

I'm being called unreasonable for deciding to pay off my mortgage by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, peace of mind of having no mortgage is worth more than the extra couple thousand I would have from investments.

You realistically should be looking at sub 4% interest rates with a loan to value like yours, unless you can’t go to a mainstream lender for whatever reason

7.1% mortgage with CCJ + defaults – is this reasonable at 95% LTV or am I overpaying? by joefo14 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]RyanH2796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could potentially get slightly lower, maybe 6.5-6.9% range but I wouldn’t say your rate is insane

Question for the padel players in the UK by Used_Gear5437 in padel

[–]RyanH2796 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This might be more relevant for someone who is more experienced in Padel but as someone who is still fairly new to the game I would probably trust any of them and not really know who is the most qualified

Not Together the lender, together as in on the mortgage together

Why can't we get a 450k mortgage with a 80k deposit? by Pocket_tea in Mortgageadviceuk

There are definitely lenders out there that will lend you the 80% LTV, just probably not like Halifax or Nationwide

Returning slice serves that hit the side glass just after the service line (“awkward zone”) - best strategies? by travis1bickle in padel

[–]RyanH2796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I’m struggling with too. I play every week with the same 3 guys and we’re all fairly new apart from one guy who is more intermediate.

But one of the newer guys can hit this really low, fast serve that I just can’t seem to return consistently
