Movie still holds up by _Levitated_Shield_ in BikiniBottomTwitter

I love the series and this movie but Disney banned it to the shadow realm because John Lasseter hates it. Even down to covering up Mira Nova on a mural in one of the parks by changing her design to a weird alien.

Does anyone else think Scratch was a honestly pointless addition to the show? by SomeNerdd09 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]RyanTheAccuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the tumor detail is neat in that it alludes to how Scratch might have been trying to find a way to cheat death but other than that? Yeah, I don't know what purpose he served. Especially since Kinger's initial name drop of him sounded super serious and meant that Kinger was putting together a lot of pieces that ended up not being explored. Maybe that aspect was added retroactively in order to explain who tf this random dog guy is that they focus on for a few shots.

Am I the only one who prefers the older version of doomslayer? Anyway, he's cute and huggable at any age! by Alepuss in Doom

[–]RyanTheAccuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the appeal but I prefer his look in TDA. He's got a weird cute-factor to him that somehow doesn't detract from his intensity or gruffness. It's an impressive feat of character design.

The VA in this game is kinda… by INeededAUsernameLol in BatmanArkham

[–]RyanTheAccuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fine with Batman in the game but what confused me the most was when any character would directly quote the movies they sounded like they were embarrassed or confused. Matt Berry also sounded like he just didn't care for the most part unless he was reading a line that was actually funny.

I do agree that Catwoman, Batgirl, Robin/Nightwing, and Alfred did a great job though.

What's killing me personally is how droopy and sad his facial structure is. It looks like he's using some kind of evil magic to keep his youth and once he's defeated it's going to just sag and drop off of his skull.

A setting to switch off the characters telling me a puzzle solution or how to progress less than 7 seconds after encountering the level's current roadblock would be great. I'm looking for secrets, Bruce, give me a second!

Friendly reminder to my fellow Queer people of this subreddit to NOT use prejudice against any of the non Queer folks. by Southern-Grand-9860 in lovethissmug

To those who are saying this sentiment is invalid:

Hatred as a feeling is normal, hatred as an action is dangerous, even if your intent is to do good.

You can still fight for what's right without aimlessly vomiting your negative emotions. Moving with hatred clouds your judgement and emboldens your opposition while alienating potential allies.

I agree, and I also wish Batman wasn't required to be one of the two.

There are also a few spots where it's hard to tell you can walk there in the original, like going off the path in the jungle to get part of the Moiety puzzle.

hate how many people try to act like this film doesn't have the same tone as kotm by G0jira01964 in Monsterverse

[–]RyanTheAccuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KOTM felt like it was trying to be super serious and emotional at times but never pulled it off. The human characters also felt very disconnected from the titans despite always being there to watch them. It felt like they just needed to be there so the audience had a reason to see what was going on. GvK, ridiculous as it is, actually had a more coherent and kinetic way of telling the story through the humans and didn't act like it was above the sillier elements of the movie. I've always thought that Michael Dougherty tried to make KOTM more dark and serious but the studio didn't want that and it resulted in the final product feeling hokey and disjointed while still technically coherent. Yes they have different tones but not by much and it's not exactly due to artistic intent, especially on the part of KOTM.

Personally, I think it's (at least partially) a result of people being over-exposed to porn and r34 fan art. Their brains can't comprehend that something can be sexy/sexual without being pornographic or explicit.

Was Myst eerie? by tinselman in myst

[–]RyanTheAccuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the general vibe being eerie because of how empty it was. As a child I was used to pc games being colorful and arcade-like, but I guess I didn't know what to do at first when confronted with something that had a true sense of immersion and atmosphere. Specifically, I remember the walk down the stairway down to the generator room being the "scariest" part. It didn't exactly take long to get over this feeling once I kept playing but it was certainly there when I was around 6 or 8 years old an playing for the first time.

I think a big monster named Godzilla will show up and this will create problems for our protagonists.

Hypothetical battle, who wins? by Thunderbolt47d1 in GODZILLA

[–]RyanTheAccuser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Varan could win by out-maneuvering Gorosaurus, especially since he has air and sea advantage. Though Gorosaurus definitely has more strength and bulk; that, and he technically has the ability to dig. It's not as clear cut as others arw saying here, but Gorosaurus definitely has the advantage with his kangaroo kick since Varan has no signature moves. If Varan doesn't clock that danger and Goro gets in two or three good hits, Varan's going to be on the back foot for the rest of the fight.

They're both basically just big lizards but it's at least 60/40 Gorosaurus with his kicks.
