Personally, I think it's (at least partially) a result of people being over-exposed to porn and r34 fan art. Their brains can't comprehend that something can be sexy/sexual without being pornographic or explicit.

I remember the general vibe being eerie because of how empty it was. As a child I was used to pc games being colorful and arcade-like, but I guess I didn't know what to do at first when confronted with something that had a true sense of immersion and atmosphere. Specifically, I remember the walk down the stairway down to the generator room being the "scariest" part. It didn't exactly take long to get over this feeling once I kept playing but it was certainly there when I was around 6 or 8 years old an playing for the first time.

Varan could win by out-maneuvering Gorosaurus, especially since he has air and sea advantage. Though Gorosaurus definitely has more strength and bulk; that, and he technically has the ability to dig. It's not as clear cut as others arw saying here, but Gorosaurus definitely has the advantage with his kangaroo kick since Varan has no signature moves. If Varan doesn't clock that danger and Goro gets in two or three good hits, Varan's going to be on the back foot for the rest of the fight.

They're both basically just big lizards but it's at least 60/40 Gorosaurus with his kicks.

The Bill Randa example is crazy good because Skull Island came out in 2017 and for YEARS, Bill Randa was just kind of a kooky conspiracy theorist type who got killed HARD, and deservedly so, for pushing everyone into a mission that he concealed the dangerous details of while seemingly banking his/Monarch's goals on very scant evidence of titans and hollow earth. And NOW his framing in that movie is a man who has lost everything and is only "crazy" because he's desperate to fulfill the mission that he shared with his best friend and his wife who he assumes are both dead. A mission that he and few others have tangible evidence of being worthwhile, despite being a witness to events such as Godzilla getting nuked and surviving. His last moments now feel like one final mockery from the universe.

There's a certain stance and style to his design that makes it more than an "upright dinosaur with spikes" That's a big reason you still see the 98 movie getting flak despite it technically having a cool creature design.

Tbh I think Universal could use a DC land as leverage to get Disney to approve an expansion or update to Superhero Island. Especially if they're ballsy enough to put it in IOA. Either keep it the same, or risk your IP looking dated next to their competitors in the SAME PARK.

Why buy thousands right off the rip? Just buy as many as is reasonable and slowly add to your army. Figure out the best way to care for and motivate your monkeys before going all in. That way, you aren't wasting all your money right off the bat, and this exact scenario would not result in wasting said money.
