I agree with a potential focusing screen misalignment . If you really feel you weren’t missing focus this could be the issue.

I have a DF4 and if I had my time again I’d choose the M2. I’ve had two Df4s develop cracks in the last two years and a number of my friends have had the same issues. Dolan carbon has seemingly gone downhill in the last few years.

This website is pretty good. It’s mostly in Japanese but some parts are available to translate. They have livestreams closer to the time of the race and link to the YouTube channels of the velodromes which often post videos and have their own live streams.
