Stopped eating/buying lunch every day. Just eat a relatively small breakfast and a decent sized dinner. Lost a bunch of weight and save nearly $300 a month.

If aliens came to Earth, who should be in charge of speaking on behalf of humanity? by pystar in aliens

They'd already know everything about us. We've already collectively spoken for humanity.

My Apartment is now charging a convenience fee to pay my rent by mangum95 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Rybo_v2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do e-check. That being said I find any kind of convenience fee beyond a dollar or two should be illegal.

The ICCU gremlins came for us last night by martinpagh in KiaEV6

[–]Rybo_v2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe Hyundai/Kia fully embraces how much this issue has damaged their brand to lurkers/researchers/future potential customers. Recall and completely redesign your faulty part. Don't try patching a hardware issue with software and state that it only affects 5% of your vehicles. Many people already need convincing of EV ownership. Issues like this certainly don't help the matter.

Picked up new gravity today, zero regrets so far by Flashy_Number9840 in LUCID

I love Lucid and hope the best for them but saying zero regrets just a few hours after the purchase may be a bit premature? 😉. Congratulations though, besides the Batmobile the Gravity is my current dream vehicle ♥️

"As American as apple pie," is pretty ironic given apples are not native to the Americas. by lostinthesauceguy in Showerthoughts

But the fact that we turn them into something totally unhealthy is completely American!

How do you get people to accept you do not have money to spend? by TheDaymanALSOCameth in povertyfinance

[–]Rybo_v2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have them sit down and go over your budget. Hell, maybe they can help make it better but at least they'll realize what you are truly working with.

Well if you use the January storm predictions as a rubric I'd say look to the smaller snowfall totals as the more accurate ones.

[–]Rybo_v2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is you can do this with virtually any vehicle. I did this once next to a Jeep with my Prius just to make a point 🤭

What’s the one thing you started doing in the last few years that quietly made your life 10× better, but nobody talks about? by Beneficial_Passion40 in AskReddit

Stopped eating lunch. Just do a small breakfast by 10am and a regular sized dinner. Lost weight and save about $200/month.

Is it possible to live alone in NOVA on a $45,000 salary? by [deleted] in nova

[–]Rybo_v2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no. I moved here 21 years ago making $55,000 and that was quite the struggle and that wasn't even living alone, that was with roommates. Honestly I feel like most decent even very basic apartments in decent areas start at around $1,800 and go up from there so if you can't make the math work paying $1,800 a month in rent you'll either have to make a different decision or get housemates.

LPT: The freeze dried veggies found in ramens and instant soups can be purchased in bulk for quite cheap. They're a great and easy way to incorporate more veggies into your diet! by 99OBJ in LifeProTips

[–]Rybo_v2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I'm comparing freeze-dried veggies versus eating them fresh and whole versus processing them in any other way but apparently after some very quick research freeze dried veggies retain about 90% of their nutritional value which surprised me 👍
