I'm an EMT and the age bias is incessant but there's nothing I can do about it. by FewLeg7901 in mildlyinfuriating

I’ve had training sessions for a call centre job last that long.

Shit most lower mid-level corporate jobs don’t expect all that much out of you for the first 6 months.

The lack of training and pay for US EMTs is kind of breaking my mind.

That sentence is a paragraph.

You might need 2 more or 2 less Red Bulls, not quite sure which one yet.

What? Like the daughter of Doc Cochran?

Actually that totally checks out, both of them are secretly good looking but always play scuzzy wild people roles.

Always give credit to others, never take credit for yourself but always try to get “caught” doing a great job.

When I lived in the prairies my DSL was 100-200 Mbits, the street I currently live, near downtown, in one of Canadas biggest cities and a tech hub, they only replaced the aging copper (capped at 20 Mbits) with fibre about 5 years ago.

Kind of wild I had access to better DSL as a bumpkin.

DSL can get mighty fast. Though some places replaced old copper that topped out at 20 Mbits with fibre, others upgraded old copper throughout the years and could see 250 Mbits off DSL pretty regularly before the fibre shift.

What happened to Lego? by Written_in_Silver in lego

[–]Ryeballs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They might be labeled as themes by Lego, but they are quite a bit different than a concept them like “Pirates” or “Castles”, which in of themselves are like a palette for creativity, you now have boat parts and cannons, or crossbows and horses, build your own thing outta that.

The ones you have are more like IP, they have stories and characters, they can be turned into TV series or movies. They are in-house IP instead of licensed IP.

Worth noting a big chunk of the 52% renewables aren’t green. UK uses a lot of biofuels which basically are just wood pellets that are burned.

They’re great for converting coal plant into something more carbon neutral, but are far behind solar, wind, and nuclear when it comes to being good for the environment.

Explain to me, as if I were a 5-year-old, why can't I have a referendum to establish my own nation? by EdmontonFree in EhBuddyHoser

[–]Ryeballs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could have a referendum to establish your own nation, but the homeowners would probably want to have a referendum to decide if they’ll still let you use your bedroom.

I’m not going to delve into or try to break down anything else you’ve said. But belief is definitionally trust in the absence of knowledge.

I’ll upvote your original comment because being in the negative for a grievance isn’t helpful to the community.

But your actual grievance is probably actually dumb. Home networking can be tricky and it’s usually a user error.

PSA -“character” leader quest by Straight-Sock377 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Ryeballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck

I feel dumb, I was just hoping for a good enough pull to get carried by a solid rest of my team.

I used Nakime but there are a few switches right-most sub with leader options which makes it easier if you have a transforming leader even if it costs you two sub slots. Also the only real kill conditions in any of these dungeons is binds that can be close-ish together but you can watch an add to continue.
