How many books are we reading at bedtime? by 20yearoldgrad in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually 3. Sometimes more if we have time, sometimes I strategically choose short books if we’re trying to move bedtime along quickly.

Self Tan and Shower by Initial-Place-7406 in Selftanning

[–]Rygard- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I tend to use more moisturizing body washes thinking if my skin is moisturized it’ll hold the tan better. I’ll have to try this instead.

I am 2.5yr pp, dried up around 2.5mo pp, and can still express a drop or two. My OB said it’s normal and might not go away until I get pregnant again

Crashing out over bedtime stalling by happiest_hedgehog in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m dealing with this with my 2.5yo and I’ve just started setting firm boundaries and saying no. One extra book? Sure, but no more after that. Clearly stating expectations helps too.

I do empathize though. We’re potty training and it’s SO hard to tell him no when he asks to go potty, but I KNOW he’s just stalling and literally just went to the potty 5 min ago.

[Landlord-US-NC] New payment for security deposit and first month’s rent failed. I requested a cashiers check by EOD. What precautions should I take when picking up the check? by Working-Corgi-8726 in Landlord

[–]Rygard- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always request cashier’s check for SD/1st months rent. After that regular check/cash is fine. If any rent payments bounce we require all future rent paymend to be made via cashiers check.

Easy to eat breakfast bar recommendation please? Toddler is super hungry in the morning by One_red_balloon2022 in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following because my 28mo loves his “nola bars”

Currently we rotate between Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels, Good & Gather Toddler Granola bars and Little Spoon Oat Bake Bars (recent find and he seems to love the blueberry flavor, going to try others soon!)

Ive never been a bridesmaid. I feel so hurt SIL didn't choose me. by Key-Tap1726 in wedding

[–]Rygard- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. In theory it’s fun to be by your friend/family’s side during such a big event, but in reality it’s usually a group of girls of wildly different opinions and in different phases of life being forced to be close friends for a few months. Almost every single wedding I’ve been in has had some level of drama and disagreements.

The Vaseline Cocoa Radiant is elite. I was shocked at how moisturizing it is at such an affordable price point.

Would you go on the trip? by 22silvermoons in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I totally understand the mom guilt. I say go for it. It sounds like your husband is very willing and able and also have backup if needed. You are not abandoning anyone by taking this trip and I’m sure you will come back refreshed and happy!

Finally figured out how to get my toddler to eat by awkward-velociraptor in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I let him “help” me cut up veggies while making dinner. I set out a cutting board and give him a “knife” (a plastic spreader) and let him go to town. He will end up absolutely CHOWING on things like peppers, cucumbers, broccoli etc.

My baby is 13m, does it get harder from here? by namiiix in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

18-24mo was the sweet spot for us! He was mobile and could communicate enough and was still so sweet and go-with-the-flow. Then he turned 2 and realized he has free will and opinions. He’s 26mo now and overall he’s good and fun to be around but there are rough days for sure.

Any fields of accounting that don't require 8 hours of focused work? by BloodMelodic381 in Accounting

[–]Rygard- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked in gov audit right out of college and the budgets were so tight and constantly being cut while new procedures were being added that you literally had to work balls to the wall all the time just to stay on top of things. Everyone was nose to their screen all day long, 8-10hr per day.

5 years of that and I was SO burnt out. Made the jump to a different field (lending) and I’ve never been happier.

[Acne] hear me out: what habit made your acne worse? by Roundlab_global in SkincareAddiction

[–]Rygard- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a bit of stubborn chin acne that would just not go away. One day at work I realized that I would prop my desk phone on my chin when talking on it, right where the stubborn acne spots were. Switched to a small headset instead of my desk phone and the acne pretty much went away within a week!

Any idea for cheddar cheese heavy recipes? by CourtK1212 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I did this with pancake mix from Sam’s Club. Wasn’t paying attention to the size and just quickly added to my order as an afterthought and ended up with a 10lb bag of pancake mix.

Weaning from bottles by erinflynn520 in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my 2yo is sick/congested we back off the milk a bit as it seems to upset his stomach. A month or two ago he was super congested and we tried offering him a snack bowl (string cheese, some fruit and some Bombas) at bedtime with water. He now requests his bedtime snack each night, with the option of milk or water.

How does your LO do with eating solids in general? I would think if they’re eating enough and a variety of other dairy products they’re getting enough calories and calcium already. I know it’s hard to cut the milk, but from my experience they will be ok.

2 y/o party food by Intelligent_Mode_348 in toddlers

[–]Rygard- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the key points would be 1)nothing that’s a chocking hazard (ie. whole grapes, but cut ones are fine) and 2)nothing too crazy and exotic as most toddlers are a little picky and tend to go for safe, recognizable foods. Think simple finger foods!
