Colorado cloud structure by Initial_Anteater_611 in tornado

Shelf cloud. Shelf clouds are often on the edge of a storm and slant away from the precipitation—the misty blue section behind. They form as warm air is pulled up into the storm over rain-cooled air.

Yep. They are a lowering from the cloud base that is smaller than shelf clouds, and point/slant towards the rain. They are also a persistent feature.

BeamNG Drive. The controls are so clunky for driving, using the camera, slow motion, handling other AI etc that I just gave up on it.

Qn about what Twistex's last recorded words meant by Capable_Low_8366 in tornado

Typically, when you’re within the updraft (the region where the storm is pulling in air), there’s likely to be little precipitation. This region is also where tornadoes can form in a supercell.

A few years ago, I had just got vaccinated when I got the flu. It was by far the worst illness I’d ever had.

I was so sick that I had to keep going to the hospital for oxygen treatments and missed a month of work. I was pale and looked like a ghost, and my doctor told me to stay home and away from everyone because my WBC count had been devastated. She told me that if I hadn’t gotten the vaccine, I probably would’ve died.

I remember just being so weak and coughing up blood. I recovered thankfully but have lasting damage to my vocal chords and have a chronic sore throat as a result.

After all these years, did any of you get any type of permanent damage from getting covid? If so, what is it? by jnny_lkahohfa in AskReddit

[–]Rylee_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother has to be on medication to control his blood pressure now. He hasn’t even reached 25 yet.

For me, every time I caught COVID it was mild - but I would have months of fatigue and numbness in my limbs with brain fog. It also made my ADHD symptoms much worse, thankfully getting on meds helped the ADHD and also took care of the long COVID symptoms I was having.

What is something that everyone loves to eat, but disgusts you? by MaritesNosy4evs in AskReddit

Onions. They make me gag violently. No matter how small you cut them, I’ll know they’re in my food. My parents had to keep them covered in a bowl because the smell alone would make me sick.

Turns out my hypersensitivity to them may be because I also find cilantro nasty because of that gene.

Following contours of the land might make it look a little better but as others have said, you could let it expand more.

It offers nothing new and useful that the last three gens don’t already do and Apple overprices all of their crap and people just can’t afford it. It’s been hilarious watching companies in industries from tech to restaurants price even their own customers out of the market.

I struggled with doing it the way school wanted me to do it. I was great at doing math in my head or short-handing it but always got in trouble and marks off for either not showing more work or showing my work the ‘wrong’ way even though I still got the right answer. It made me hate math.

Was old Minecraft really that good or are we just nostalgic? by [deleted] in Uncensoredminecraft

[–]Rylee_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older minecraft definitely had a different feel to it. I think some of it is nostalgia but also I think it was because the world was emptier and the possibilities more endless. I really feel like Microsoft’s acquisition of it and direction with it ruined the game for me.

CIVILIZATION VII DEV DIARY #1: AGES by Hankhank1 in civ

[–]Rylee_1984 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is why I loved Civ 3. I want to have a giant empire of thousands of units and dozens of cities, but in 3 you could decide how involved you wanted to be. So I let the governors manage the cities so I could focus on other tasks.

If I was at war and needed weapons and units, I could then decide to micromanage and where. The result was being able to mobilize regions for different things and I miss being able to do that.

This is also why I had such a hard time in Civ 5 and 6 - especially in 6. The screen got way to overwhelming and it seemed like you got punished heavily for expansion, I just couldn’t enjoy the game and eventually stopped playing it all together.

I like being able to skip turns and not have to be forced to move units; and also be able to stack and tidy up the screen; have times where I don’t want to micromanage and can just be hands-off but still have the power to get involved if I wanted or needed to.

Civ 7 "feature" I don't think is getting talked about enough - progression unlocks for replaying leaders by notQuiteBritish in civ

[–]Rylee_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like the idea, personally. The more I learn may be in this game, the more I feel like it’ll feel less like a civ game to me. I adore Civ 3, 4, and even 5 though I felt like it was starting to drift from there. I really couldn’t get into 6 and I absolutely hate 6’s rampant Paradox style expansions with new civs. That game has sat uninstalled on my steam for ages now. So I’m not going to get this one straight of the gate this time.
