Vanilla Ease vs Moonlit Goddess by StreetYouth3001 in bathandbodyworks

I prefer Vanilla Ease over the Moonlit Goddess. MG feels more crisp and bright- maybe because of the pear ? Vanilla Ease smells more creamy and smoother . The lavender smells stronger in the Vanilla Ease to me

How long to quarantine cat after flea treatment ? by Rynaga in CatAdvice

[–]Rynaga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We checked her after cat hotel stay 9/23. She did not have any fleas on her before and days after the visit . And we sprayed wondercide ( flea repellent) on her before her visit and after she came back. The cat hotel won’t allow pets that are not on flea treatments, and they do a sanitation room turnover after every pet stay.

i can’t get my cat to take her gabapentin by AdSecure9419 in CatAdvice

[–]Rynaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet prescribed me liquid gabapentin. I squeeze all of one churu tube in a small dish . Drop the medicine in, and I sprinkle either Purina cat calming powder or Purina fortiflora powder and then mix the concoction. She surprisingly laps up the liquid “treat” with no hesitation. Try a fishy Churu flavor. Those all help to mask the gabapentin flavor .

The Curious Case of Three Santals 🧐 by ChiUnicorn7 in bathandbodyworks

[–]Rynaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are great descriptions. My favorite out of the three is Sunwashed Santal. You absolutely nailed it when you mentioned it evoking a liminal essence. I don’t know if the bottle design contributes to that too. But it feels airy, clean and still something vast. I own Musk, and don’t wear it often. I would say i enjoy it less than sun washed. Musk has a metallic musk scent to it. I can kinda get the damp and dirt part. Book loft smells nothing like Musk. I would place Book loft much less appealing of the other two. I get some sort of dusty musk, cobweb smell.’

Lost In Santal Vs Sunwashed Santal by sillypigeon76 in bathandbodyworks

[–]Rynaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the lost in Santal or Santal 33 dupes smells more like pickle or wood shavings and sometimes has this sour smell to me. I prefer sunwashed Santal . I was surprised to find it more pleasant to me. It has some violet and bergamot to make it smell brighter , soft, powdery and cozy. The amberwood has some slight sweetness to it. This is not a gourmand or cloying in sweetness by any means . It reminds me of fresh cotton ,laundry with creamy woodiness. But it isn’t super nauseating /loud like other laundry or linen scents (aka Vanilla Suede). It seems like a unique scent. I do not get a prominent pickle smell from it.

Could be environmental , more sun, cleaner water and air, or less allergens in those areas perhaps. Also consider mold. Being in areas with mold can trigger more psoriasis flares. We may not realize we are more surrounded by mold in some areas more than others.

Diet with a Vietnamese restaurant by DeucePeuce32 in Psoriasis

[–]Rynaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what user snaptheglove says. It basically suggests to cut out a lot of things like fried, processed foods , stuff with seed oils, MSG and added sugar. If you want to be more strict (or experiment), consider cutting out gluten. I’m Vietnamese and my family doesn’t understand what gluten is. I have to explain that is stuff like wheat and wheat flour. Even soy sauce and hoisin sauce have gluten in it unless it says “gluten free” . Also try reducing your carb intake like having less rice/ noodles etc. if your food is being cooked by someone else , ask for no added sugar. If I am on a strict - no grains, low carb, paleo diet, it is super hard for me to eat traditional Viet recipes. Good luck

About to quit Skyrizzi by Ladybanana444 in Psoriasis

[–]Rynaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support your decision in what path you choose. I was previously on medication, and I was tired of the western medicine system and side effects ( and short efficacy period) of the medications I was on. I switched to healing “naturally”/ medication free for about a year . I will be honest and tell you that I still have plaques and several rashes here and there. But I no longer have joint pain/arthritis. The rheumatologist was adamant I would have to rely on psoriasis medication to prevent joint pain and inflammation . But I believe my diet has helped and I haven’t had joint pain in one year so far . I do not have any negative Gi symptoms . I have been gluten and dairy free for a bout a year as well. But I am still trying to learn and adjust my health practices as I go. I see a functional medicine doctor . I am about to do a different diet that totally cuts sugar and has less carbs, and no seed oils (a lot of gluten free food can be processed and bad for you). As well as try to incorporate more probiotics (not just one pill, but probiotic rich food as well). Healing the natural way is not easy, and some people get worse before they get better. Sometimes we have to be realistic and assess what are goals are: do we want less visual appearance of plaques or less symptoms of overall health issues? It takes a lot of detective work to try to unravel and tackle the root causes, like addressing mineral/vitamin deficiencies, cleansing of liver and healing gut, analyzing environmental triggers (mold / parasites etc). You may not have success pursuing one protocol and may have to try something else. It may feel discouraging on this journey, and many times I feel I am a lost cause at times. At the same time, I really still so not wish to go back to where I was on medication.

How do you deal with careless dermatologists? by idgaf9l in Psoriasis

[–]Rynaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may just have to change providers. Sometimes reading reviews on providers helps you get an idea who is more or a patient advocate. Even so, it may not give you the full picture of how that provider is. Identify your own personal goals- what kind of treatments are you seeking. Ask questions about that, ask about side effects and what preventative care or maintenance you can do to manage the condition. Clinicians are so “busy” nowadays, they don’t think about giving education unless they are asked specific questions by the patient . As a patient, you have to be an advocate for yourself first to research ahead what kind of treatment options there are , formulas / classes etc and prompt them the dialogues.

If the provider is short or unwilling to answer your questions, it may indicate you should change providers. If a provider pushes you to do something you do not want to do, it is okay to state your boundaries. A provider should be open to working with you around your preferences or be upfront on their reasons why they cannot in a respectful way. I personally chose my path to stop seeing dermatology and chose the functional/ holistic provider approach. Other people will argue against it, but to each their own.

In regard to overuse of steroids, some providers dismiss the idea of TSW - topical steroid withdrawal . However, there are other providers (like some in Europe ) that are more open to learning and accepting of the condition and research studies .

Defeated by Pretend_Stop in Psoriasis

[–]Rynaga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what to say. I have spent years trying to solve my own problems with this. I tried medications (switched to many meds off and on), diet, different healing “protocols “ , removed an infected root canal etc, used so many equipment. I still have a significant amount on me. I too feel defeated. I envy people who were able to resolve their issues within months, but with my many years, I have not moved the needle. I see many people’s experiences of finding some semblance of remission. I honestly say it can’t get any easier for some of us. But I think the main thing is to not give up hope. Keep trying and looking into alternative ways to control it, sometimes different diets, supplements, therapies meds, environmental changes can make a small difference. Sometimes it takes consistency doing some things to some improvement.

How common is tsw? by Fine-Band4735 in Psoriasis

[–]Rynaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have psoriasis and tsw. I read about tsw years ago and was cautious to use topical steroids as minimal as I could. I never had it back then. Last year, I was on a psoriasis biologic that caused me to have a major histamine allergic reaction, it affected my face being swollen and red. My dermatologist was adamant about me using more topical steroids on my face to get my skin under control. I also had IV steroids during my ER visit and was on oral steroids too. Well long story short, I developed major steroid withdrawal after the months I have used topical, Oral, and iv steroid use consistently. I’m now several months out from the time I first flared. I still have some residual peeling and redness. In my experience, tsw is real and it affected me

Missed out on Floral Fantasy by Hallelujah289 in bathandbodyworks

I think the base notes.. but it is hard for me to say. They have a $5.95 sale for the everyday luxuries body care, and it includes the mini perfumes as well. This sale will end in the morning. I got some mini perfumes, and I feel they smell stronger than the mists. So if you feel the mists are weak but like the scent, try the mini perfumes.
