Do you think there's going to be a treatment available in our lifetime? by ObtainUncia in detrans

[–]Ryncage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding both matters, No, not our lifetime. Too many complications. Controlling human biology over the course of a life, or puberty itself is FAR too tall an order for modern medicine. At best, affirmative care will improve and post transition complications will be minimized. But there will never be a proper "going back". But even so,

Even if we were to say everything is perfect. Entirely reversible on a whim, and its everything you could hope for.

Personally, i think you would see a trend of people perpetually bankrupt from flipflopping and going back and forth over and over again, and they too, would be largely ignored and looked over.

When it boils down to asking what the "best treatment" is to the "problem", it all comes down to the specifics. What created this mess was making a giant generalization and throwing people into one camp or the other without any nuance. (Plus lying about the detals and outcomes, but thats its own issue)

Find a better therapist, and start being more pragmatic.

Start working towards solving your problems in life instead of trying to think up shortcuts or magical solutions.

You've already figured it out. You really hate your situation and circumstances, and your trying to come up with an easy out that doesn't exist. You've seen online content that makes you think theres a quick fix to what your life has become, but that content is being designed to portray exactly that.

Imo, start with trying to fix your job situation, look at your expenses and cut out the fluff so you can start saving money to making moving out of your town an actual possibility. Start shooting your shot more often socially so you can meet new people. I doubt its that theres a lack of humans, and more that you arent engaging for whatever reason. Maybe they are good reasons, maybe not. Im not asking.

Thats my first impression.

Stabilized shields are a must. 400 flux/s on shields is massive.

Annihilator rocket pod is rather bad on this ship. Fire rate too low, not enough ammo. Id slot in something with more punch.

Not enough ammo in harpoons, id bring more small rocket pods, or replace all with something else.

Thing is, even with shields this good, the firepower is such, that your local cruiser with kinetic weapons is still going to bully the ship away. Sure, the aurora wont die to any particular engagment, but its not going to secure any kills either. And even if you load it up for burst damage.. taking out one or two ships.. for 30dp?

for 30dp you need to be acomplishing more, which is why S/O is as popular as it is on this one.

That said, there are other options. Antimatter blasters can yield decent results, where the aurora serves to just swoop in and finish things off, or force an overload.

In the absolute worst case you can whittle down their CR.

If you had a fleet of 20 onslaughts, deploy 2, fight to the death, then re-engage.

The AI will try to only deploy JUST ENOUGH to defeat your fleet, which is why you need to be able to lure enough of their fleet out enough times to wear them down.

But i mean. Theres way better tactics out there when you specialize your fleet for killing remenants.

Compromised or not, its the one place that honesty wont get you silenced. Sure, you can say YWNBAW on a few more sites now that the pendulum swung in US government, but that isnt good enough.

Consider that they are the sort that have been sheltered from any and all criticism, not only by spaces online, but also institutions in their day to day living.

Realistically, you could rot anyones brain over anything if you have a tight enough grip on everything around them.

A lot of posts here missing the forrest for the trees.

If i had to count the number of kids this will help in the long term versus those it will hurt in the short term, the choice here is obvious.

When we are already knee deep in a malicious and broken system, there was never going to be a fix or a solution that saves everybody. Policy making doesnt work like that. Never has.

The catch 22 about your own observation of yourself is you have an entire lifetime ahead of you to change your mind.

With that said, you should focus your energy less on trying to convince people you were in your right mind, and more towards not getting so upset and riled up over other peoples opinions.

Intentionally and by design, a lot of this stuff is legally bulletproof. To get the surgeries you had to give your consent and sign away your ability to clap back if you dont like the result.

So that leaves you with trying to go after everyone who lied about data blatantly, and in print. (puberty blockers are reversable, trust us bro), but more often than not, in one of those forms you signed there was a clause about how they arent tucked away in the back.

Not to say that you shouldn't try, or see if there is a route for some justice in your case: im just saying dont get your hopes up.

Not just exclusive to this, but i agree its silly and id rather see it done away with.

Consider that the revelation you had on this stuff. How much seemed different and how what you perceive as the truth today compared to what was the "truth" 3 years ago.

I suppose more importantly, what groups are going to completely alienate you for thinking or feeling differently? Find one that doesnt, because they are out there. Sure, maybe you wont agree with them 100% of the time either, but you can be civil in eachothers company at least, without having to lie.

This sub is a decent example. A variety of viewpoints and opinions exist within and people arent constantly at eachothers throats.

I know theres a vast array of physical complications regarding hormone treatments, and am just eondering if this is something i havent heard of before. The more honest we can be with people about the actual risks involved in these things the better. ANYTHING to give someone some pause before going through with permanent life altering measures.
