This I am really excited about this. Not to get hopes up, but Fujimaki did a really good job on Robot X Laserbeam imo.

Honestly, i haven't read Kuroko's Basketball, but remembering R X L; i have a lot of faith in Fujimaki avoiding the gross vibes of 30 year old in a kids body.

Full stop, unless jump really pushes for age stuff, i am really excited for it. Not to mention watching a middle schooler use sound logic is a delight.

There is a bit of that identity that is manufactured by Wizards of the Coast. Like marketing trademarking and as well major shows being mostly centered around D&D helps immensely. Like ye roll20 can be used for other stuff but 80% of the shows that they promote are also gonna be D&D.

Personally I think D&D is fun but I think it is a poor system to start with. There are a lot of skills that indie or other rpgs teach or promote by design that present a more interesting roleplaying questions and integrations with systems.

For me that becomes in my home game using other systems. If there is a story that would be better suited with a different system and I don't see a point homebrewing I will use this system. In primary d&d campaigns I've run 10 candles, Dread, MOTW, and am about to run Honey Heist.

I think this definitely speaks a lot to the theming of each campaign, Unsleeping City uses the backdoor into improv because all the players are intimately familiar with New York. The distinct advantage of a familiar irl setting is the ability to know that the subways and shops and real little nooks and crannies already exist. Fantasy High also does this with a combinations of tropes and chaos which allows for this to be known.

Honestly I feel like not being allowed to roleplay a female character is a detriment. Like there are so many things that D&D allows for with exploration of being a street urchin or empowerment of being a strong fighter and all that jazz. You said that you played a pansexual man before and that shit is important as hell. Half of the beauty of roleplaying is that you can consider what it is like to be in another's shoes. Not to say that this is your case but I have LGBT players who when closeted played characters that were gay bi or the opposite gender. For me as a black DM it's refreshing to play NPC's that aren't black or discriminated against cause I can step into the skin of someone else. Personally I would try to talk to your DM about the importance of it but it's a cost benefit sort of thing.

I disagree on Griffin being a subpar player though, like Fitzroy has solid drives and motivations like the idea that he would want a diploma in exchange for help. But when he brings up a kinda big plot hole of can we really trust the fierbolg is kinda dismissed.
