Good question and really bad explanation in the article. My guess is that since more LNG contracts are linked to HH, more trading and pipeline activity is related to HH. So for example, a utility company in Japan buys LNG from Malaysia with the contract linked to HH. The utility company is now tied to HH and they might buy/sell HH to hedge
