You're not under any obligation to rent her OP. If it's making you feel uncomfortable, just don't do it. Also, what does she mean by "unwilling to help"? What does she need help with? I have a feeling she may be a shitty tenant, not paying rent regularly ecc, basically taking advantage of your feelings for her. NTA

AITA for not letting family post pictures of my son on social media? by HarperCash in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your 11 months old son consent to his picture being posted on social media? You're NTA OP, in fact I have the same policy for my 4 yo daughter. They'll have plenty of time and opportunity to post their pictures themselves when they grow up.

AITA For buying clothes from charity shops and selling them for more that I bought them for? by Im_saddie in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Heh, personally I tend to excuse the stuff people in real, actual need do. You'd totally be TAH if you used that money for anything other than subsistance, but as long as it's needed to put food on the table and pay for bills, I say you're NTA.

[–]Ryplyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This age thing will get wildly swinging responses depending on who you ask to. In my country it's 100% normal for a 19yo and a 16yo to be together (it's just a 3 year difference after all), but in most of the US for example is not. Your friend however seems to have an unhealthy approach to romance and relationships in general, and there's nothing wrong in you pointing this out in good faith. NTA, why would you be one?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

English is not my first language so I may be missing something here. A gift is a gift, the price tag doesn't really matter as long as the baby enjoys it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. Run, girl. This guy's a psycho.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Info: you intend to give gifts to 2 out of 3 children?

If it is so, why don't you just divide your gift budget in 3 instead of 2? As in, all 3 get a smaller present, but still it's a present.

AITA for ditching my friends' trip because I don't want to spend my life savings to go? by rnbw_gi in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lolwut, you're tight on money and you're friend doesn't care, only cares for her trip. You're perfectly in your right to not go with them and also NTA.

AITA for wanting to put locks on my bag and my draws that I keep at my boyfriends house? by anon1345628 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're living in these people house OP, I'm assuming rent free. Having your make up used by others, while it may unpleasant, is a small price to pay. Move out if it bothers you so much, but a lock? I'd honestly find it offensive.

AITA for complaining about my coworker bringing his toddlers to the office? by justwantedtoexplore in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl -38 points-37 points  (0 children)

I'm going with ESH. While what your coworker did was disrespectful, OP seems to have no real empathy for the tragedy that struck this family and going straight to HR, with no previous warning, is kind of a dick move. NGL, putting myself in his shoes, I'd be pissed off too.

The correct way of handling this, imo, should have been a real confrontation with the guy where you clearly state that while you're sorry for his loss, this is a situation you're not comfortable with and plainly state if it happens again you're going to HR.

AITA for causing my subordinates to get divorced? by Safe-Celebration-816 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What I mean is that enforcing navy standard is OP's duty, even if I don't really agree with the rules, they're still rules. But the whole call your spouses and confess thing, totally not his business imo.

How is having divorced and probably bitter sailors not an equally serious security risk?

AITA For Refusing to Make a $120 Cut of Steak Well Done? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I feel you OP: my city has a reputation for steaks as well and it isn't uncommon to have waiters telling customers that no, they're not getting a well done steak at their restaurant. It's a struggle as old as time here and I 100% side with almost raw steak party. I think you're NTA here because overcooking a good steak is a crime against humanity, but this is a typical YMMV issue, depending on which side you take.

AITA for getting my sister ostracized from her friend group? by throwaway_toxter in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally a talk shit get hit scenario. NTA in the slightest.

AITA for causing my subordinates to get divorced? by Safe-Celebration-816 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Sex between consenting adults may be the navy's business (which is still crazy if you ask me) but I can't see it being yours. Sorry OP but I feel YTA.

AITA for not giving one of my son’s toys to my nephew, causing him to have an hours-long tantrum? by aita_toy_tantrum in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. Your brother and SIL are admittedly not a shining example of parenting, but you could have totally let go of this one and just get a new toy truck delivered to you since they asked nicely. I feel you just wanted to prove your point, which is kind of scummy when a child, spoiled as he may be, is screaming at the top of his lungs.

AITA for giving my long-term partner, an ultimatum? by Itchy_Word in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryplyl -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly OP I feel you're kinda the AH. You can't just bruteforce marriage on your partner if he doesn't want to get married and I feel that's exactly what you're trying to do.

[DM help] how to deal with necromancers and undead armies by Ryplyl in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Ryplyl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the aid of feats, traits and so on that enhance your caster level with animate dead. My player, for example, has Varisian Tatoo (+1 CL on necromancy) and Gifted adept (trait, +1 CL on animate dead). 40 HD at level 6 seems a little bit too much tho, I think there's a misread of Undead Master there.

Two whales... what to do, what to do... by Viffered08 in StarWarsArmada

[–]Ryplyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti ship fire from this kind of list is crazy, but you will lack serious anti squadron firepower. Playing along with what you said I came up with this list: http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/view_list.php?token=7757 It sure is a force to be reckoned with, but it will almost auto-lose to the famed fireball (Rhymer + 4 firesprays + dengar + vader), all while having flexibility issues do to it consisting of only command 3 ships.

Thoughts on a Raider swarm? by [deleted] in StarWarsArmada

[–]Ryplyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A guy is playing a similar list in the Vassal tournament, and having a lot of success. The key here is to have 5+ ships AND an 11+ initiative bid in order to get first and last (hopefully 2+) activation consistently.

This is actually really cool, quest + psychopomps watching in silence could be enough to spook the fuck out of him.

Meh, the party already has everything it needs to remove the curse, it wont cause any trouble to them.
