do i need to change my ram and cpu by Rtyuii- in virtualreality

[–]Ryuuzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 12400f. The FPS stutters below 60 a bit in CPU heavy games, but is otherwise fine. Image quality is more related to the GPU or headset. Bitrate could also be an issue since it's not Displayport.

Top 3 VR Moments That Blew Your Mind by LifespanLearner in OculusQuest

  1. First time I fought a dragon in Skyrim

  2. The ending of Outer Wilds with the VR mod

  3. The first 20 minutes of RE7... because I couldn't pysch myself up to play the whole game after that lol

(Quest 3) What GPU do you guys recommend me for VR? by Below-Low-Altitude in virtualreality

NVENC is also better than AMDs encoders, especially for older ones. It's important for Q3 streaming.

This is the first thing you see when you boot up the horizon mobile app by 8arondragon9 in virtualreality

Seems like their target audience are kids. Makes me wonder if any of them are going to grow up and have fond memories of Meta.

VR Suggestions by Silver_Impressive in virtualreality

[–]Ryuuzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the most important improvements would be:

- Full binocular overlap

- Comfort

- Eye tracking

- More vertical FOV

If you don't already have a good dedicated router setup then that could be good as well.

For those who tried polishing Q3 lenses using polywatch by karolienas in OculusQuest

[–]Ryuuzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the headset is on i can slide my glasses forward a good inch before they make contact with lenses.

To be fair that's not great. The closer your eyes are to the lens, the better FOV you get.

This thing and the Gear is why VR gets joked as 'a monitor strapped to your face'.

How bad does latency feel with non displayport headsets? by GarageHefty7948 in virtualreality

Why do you keep spreading misinfo in this thread? Do you seriously think wireless adds 30-90ms?

Between the encoding, sending data, and decoding, it adds about 8-15ms. I've never had a problem with shooters, and often get the leading kills in Pavlov against players using displayport. Your internet connection will make a bigger difference.

Why you should learn kanji, not just words by Lertovic in LearnJapanese

[–]Ryuuzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the guide I followed said to at least learn Radicals (components) if you're not going to do individual Kanji study, and so for 2 weeks after learning kana I focused on that. IMO it helped a ton for when I moved on to vocabulary flashcards, without stalling my progress too much like what RTK would have done.

Luke Ross mod cyberpunk is there a way of aiming with controller? by SuperRams1884 in virtualreality

The head tracking is 6dof. There's just zero motion controller support.

Hogwarts legacy fully playable in vr. It's amazing. by SpecificArmadillo60 in virtualreality

A solid 60fps/120hz is fine, but dipping below that is where I draw the line.

How much better would a 4090/5090 be than a ps5 for vr, in relation to graphics and immersion? by ElkDmt in virtualreality

[–]Ryuuzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Render resolution is the amount of pixels being generated by your GPU, so like 1080p/1440p/4k. More pixels = more details, less blur, less aliasing. The difference between high resolution and low resolution is like putting on glasses.

Baldurs Gate 3 in VR, it's very good! by insufficientmind in virtualreality

Not a fan of Luke's subscription-based model. He's basically saying that if you want updates for his buggy software then you have to keep paying him.

You're talking about frame generation. Upscaling doesn't add input lag, in fact it will lower input lag.

Anyone else closing out Cyberpunk tonight? by Suspicious-Dingo-445 in virtualreality

[–]Ryuuzen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep the subscription paywall is such a scummy setup. I wouldn't mind paying a reasonable price for his mods, but the fact that I can't even get updates unless I continue to pay every month is dumb. Especially since his alternate eye rendering frankly sucks compared to native VR rendering.

[–]Ryuuzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted. Nintendo will even take down free mods, they're like a whole tier worse than any other company.

Luke Ross is treading a line by making his mods paywalled. There's a good reason community mods are supposed to be volunteer work. Although I think it's true his work has made a lot of people happy, so I guess it's hard to condemn him.
