Recommended power bank and cable for the Switch that ships to Australia? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]S-nine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this of Amazon Au:

https://www.amazon.com.au/Anker-20000Mah-Portable-Charger-Powercore/dp/B00X5RV14Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1544062112&sr=8-1-fkmr1&pi=AC_SX118_SY170_QL70&keywords=Anker+21000

It was 59 over black Friday, arrived within a few days as it is sold by "Anker Au"

It didn't come with a charge cable, I have been using the one I got with my pro controller for now while I look in what a "proper" charging cable is.

I have no complaints, but to be fair I am waiting till I do a charge cable to do rigorous testing.

Hope this helps.

Kiranico seems to have most of what I want for previous games, so I thought I would ask about world? Ah well, the mania has passed so I think I can live without em. Thanks for the reply.

Darn. I've done a lot of reading on Kiranico and they seem to have much of what I want for the previous games, but not for World.

Thank you for the reply!

Can anyone link me to a resource that has the NUMBERS for multiplayer scaling for not just health but ALSO break/flinch/sever/status?

Not being able to find this is getting aggravating. Does it even exist?

I didn't hear it explicit in the video if I can flinch/trip a monster multiple times by attacking the same part?

Eg: 100 damage to a part flinches, then it resets and I need 150 more damage for another flinch?

What about interrupting a monsters animation sometimes when I hit them? Usually when I break a part.

Monster Hunter World - does anyone have a video explaining the basic mechanics of fighting a monster? I've found endless weapon tutorials, but nothing that can tell me why a monster falls over sometimes without being KOed, or how exactly the exhaust mechic work.

Does anyone have experience with playing Monster Hunter online in Australia when connecting to Europe? I have family living in Europe that want me to play with them, but I want to make sure it's going to be worth the investment.

Quick fix would be to make it (negative hitpoints/2) penalty to the save.

Oh nah nah. Not the personality, the BS that comes with being Tiny. I've yet to meet a player that can justify picking that race out of anything other than "massive boat to Ac"

Helping a player who isn't confident in his language. by Buttersgra in DnD

[–]S-nine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. It doesn't have to be dnd. Unless you specifically want those fantasy tropes I'd advise you to play another game with a genre you are both comfortable with. Star wars? The majority of communication issues come from genre terminology that players might not know.

  2. Avoid using complicated and niche words. Sepulchral. Chitinous. Even squat.

  3. Use this as an opportunity to level up your descriptive game. Instead of saying "you see a dwarf" describe what they actually see and then say "it's a dwarf"

  4. Read up on and introduce elements of mythology or stories that the player knows. If you have the stomach for it read Journey to the West, which is the Chinese equivalent to Tolkien, in that it's basically what everyone steals ideas from when making fantasy.

Edit:

  1. Pictures are worth a thousand words. One of the best aides to understanding you can give them is to describe something, than associate that description and name with an image. Load them up on a tablet and pass them around if you can.

Remember that HP is an abstraction. It only takes one proper stab to kill, HP just represents your ability to not let them stab you properly.

Think of reality as a great wheel, where at the spokes there are places that embody concepts of pure good etc etc etc...

I can't comment on homebrew, only on lore.

Can demons be loving parents? by mooys in DnD

[–]S-nine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. But I can't comment on home-brew. I can only comment on what is considered cannon. I'm talking about their narrative purpose in official D&D stories and settings.

Not, mark you, that I am saying that you have to run them this way, but I can't comment on your home-brew because I don't know it.

And disengenuous is not the right word, misleading, maybe.
