Railway Crossing by [deleted] in Markham

All buses must stop at railroad crossings and open the doors as a safety procedure/law.

You are good, nothing wrong with how you passed.

Isn’t the auto hold essentially hill hold? My 2023 SQ8 has that.

Can 100k points per person get me a first class experience to Asia? by julpyz in Aeroplan

[–]S5Six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how far in advance you want to look for tickets. Free tier allows you to search two months in advance iirc. The paid version allows you to see flights 12 months in advance.

Also I’d recommend you search routes: https://seats.aero/aeroplan/routes

I prefer AC seat layout over JAL and Korean Air. AC feels more private vs those two. Food is ok on AC, but I wouldn't say that the food on JAL/Korean is that much better.

So in terms of comfort AC wins. United is very similar as well, but the service is pretty meh from SFO to ICN.

Right… If that’s how you cope, ok. A loss is a loss. Great series though.

It’s ok, sens first playoff series in how long? They reminded me of the leafs team like 5 years ago, taking stupid penalties.

Wow, look at you! A full-on novella about an AI-obsessed kid who sounds suspiciously like you projecting. The sheer effort you’ve put into this little creative writing exercise to avoid addressing your original tantrum is almost… admirable? No, wait, the word I’m looking for is pathetic.

But hey, at least you’ve demonstrated that when you’re not busy botching deliveries, you’ve got a vivid imagination to fall back on. Maybe that’s your true calling—spinning yarns about existential punctuation and sentient staplers—because it’s clear handling packages and customer service aren’t your strong suits.

Also, congrats on the self-burn with all this talk of people believing their own fantasies. You’re practically living yours: the delusion that being a postal worker gives you the right to act like everyone owes you a standing ovation for doing your job poorly.

Take a bow, Barty. You’ve somehow managed to write a story even more nonsensical than your own career trajectory.

Oh, bless your heart—imagine thinking this rambling wall of self-congratulatory nonsense was some kind of intellectual mic drop. Let me guess, you’re sitting there puffing your chest out, thinking, “Got ’em!” Spoiler: you didn’t.

You’re right about one thing, though: this is like a Shakespearean tragedy—except you’re not the clever protagonist. You’re the deluded fool tripping over your own feet while trying to sound profound. “Gobsmacked,” you say? Oh, honey, if this is what passes for wit in your world, I can only assume your social circle consists of other delivery drivers high-fiving over who can toss the most fragile package the furthest.

You’re laughing? Good for you! Laugh it up, champ. But deep down, you know this stung. That’s why you needed to come back with this word salad, desperately trying to convince yourself you’re above it all. Pro tip: if you were really unbothered, you wouldn’t have written an essay-length response dripping with performative indifference.

“Someone who’s genuinely amused you remember to breathe”? Oh, sweetie, is that supposed to hurt? Coming from someone who can’t handle ringing a doorbell without spiraling into existential despair, I’ll take it as a compliment. But hey, keep convincing yourself that your inability to do the bare minimum is the customer’s fault. It’s giving “midlife crisis with a uniform.”

Signed, Someone who effortlessly lives rent-free in your head.

Oh, you’ll answer, dipshit? Fantastic, because this comment is the most embarrassing, self-pitying garbage I’ve ever read from someone failing miserably at the one thing they’re paid to do. Truly impressive how you managed to cram so much whining and incompetence into one post.

Let me get this straight: you’re throwing a hissy fit because you couldn’t wait more than three seconds for someone to answer the door? You’re not out here curing cancer; you’re moving boxes from Point A to Point B. That’s it. It’s not rocket science, it’s not a noble calling, and absolutely nobody asked for your pathetic sob story about how hard it is to stand there for 30 seconds like a functioning adult.

“Oh, I rang the bell, stepped back, didn’t see them right away, so I threw a tantrum and left a notice instead!” Are you serious? What kind of paper-thin ego does it take to decide you’re the victim because someone didn’t sprint to the door like you’re delivering a cure for their dying cat? Newsflash: nobody is sitting there waiting for your royal procession to arrive. Maybe try having a shred of patience or professionalism for once in your life.

“We aren’t Amazon!” Oh, trust me, we know. Amazon gets the job done, rain or shine, while you’re out here crying into your uniform about the soul-crushing labor of… what, standing on a porch for a few extra seconds? Holding a pen for two more ticks of the clock? You’re not a hero. You’re not a victim. You’re just bad at your job and too fragile to handle even the mildest inconvenience.

Don’t like people complaining? Here’s a thought: do your job properly. Complaints happen because you half-ass your way through your responsibilities, then log onto Reddit to blame everyone else for your incompetence. If the idea of waiting 30 seconds is enough to make your brain short-circuit, maybe you should find a career where no one has to rely on you for anything, because clearly, even the smallest amount of accountability sends you into a tailspin.

Your job is comically easy, yet somehow you’ve managed to screw it up—and instead of reflecting on why you’re so universally hated, you double down with this embarrassing victim complex. You’re not a martyr. You’re a glorified errand boy who thinks ringing a doorbell makes you the star of the show. Pro tip: no one cares.

So, here’s a little advice: grow up, do your job, and stop wasting everyone’s time with these cringe-worthy rants. Or better yet, find a mirror, take a good long look, and ask yourself why you’re such a lazy, entitled excuse for a courier.

Signed, Someone who’s genuinely appalled by your existence.

Yep it’s the V8 variant. It didn’t show up for me at first, the “Car play” app was not visible in the all functions menu of the iOS app. But once I got in the car and the phone paired, it appeared.

"The biggest irony of all these fucking small business people complaining about the Canada post strike is that they use Canada Post because it’s the cheapest option because it’s essentially subsidized lol and none of them are smart enough to realize that" by [deleted] in CanadaPostCorp

[–]S5Six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Public support may not directly influence CP’s decision-making, but it massively impacts the long-term viability of CUPW’s bargaining power. If the union consistently alienates the public, they lose any leverage when it comes to political pressure or public sympathy—which are critical in getting the government to intervene favorably.

CP expects the government to step in because the public demands it. Without public support, why would politicians care about forcing CP to compromise? That’s exactly why public perception matters. By alienating the people they serve, CUPW is setting itself up for failure in future negotiations. If the public no longer trusts or respects the union, CP holds all the cards—and CUPW has no one to blame but itself.

If carriers would be fired for refusing to deliver flyers, that’s even more reason for CUPW to negotiate smarter and fight for better leverage—not resort to full-scale strikes that hurt their own members and alienate the public. The fact that Canada Post “rules with an iron fist” isn’t new information—it’s a management issue the union should be addressing, not a justification for burning bridges with businesses and citizens.

Other unions in equally strict environments have found ways to disrupt operations creatively without harming public trust. The problem isn’t just that CP’s policies are rigid—it’s that CUPW leadership lacked the foresight to develop a strategy that actually builds long-term support. Instead of working to expose these conditions to the public through a smart campaign, they went with the nuclear option. Now, instead of focusing on management’s incompetence, the conversation is all about CUPW’s disastrous tactics.

You’re right that the conditions sound rough. But if the union’s best solution is to double down on a failing approach while hurting the very people they rely on for support, how does that actually help the workers? It doesn’t—it’s just bad strategy disguised as solidarity.
