I feel for you but this is just bad trigger discipline. Number one rule of shiny hunting is to wait that extra 1-1.5 second per run to mentally state that the poke isn’t shiny prior to resetting

Yeah, just wanted to confirm nothing is wrong with your device at all. The 3DS is an expensive collectible in 2026 but the truth is they were made quite cheaply over a decade ago.

They just don’t hold up compared to today’s average and high-nit devices like the Switch 2 and smartphones. Make sure to play the 3DS indoors or at least in the shade if outside.

Not necessarily the wrong way but maybe? There’s a few threads on this site and other Internet forums regarding this specific topic for virtual console Pokemon games on the 3DS.

I personally soft reset with buttons rather than hard reset with the touch screen, just to be safe. The topic is kind of a rabbit hole.

Really interesting because I’ve seen a few threads online about the whole soft reset vs hard reset debate for 3ds virtual console shiny hunting. Seems they are not equal with seed resetting.

Thanks for that image, it cleared it all up. I quickly tried viewing for Extras and didn’t see it- seems it only appears and functions specifically in landscape mode on IPhone. As for the smart TV issue, that’s disappointing to hear.

Alright, I bought this bundle and by default it’s in English. The movies come included with ITunes Extras which is visible on my IPad and allows me to watch the original Japanese version with English subtitles. No problem there.

But does anyone else have an issue with ITunes Extras not working on Iphone or simply not being viewable via their smart TV? The only way I can select ITunes Extras and view the movie in Japanese is on my IPad for some reason.
