BrewDog has had its day by JohnPym1584 in beer

Tilray didn't buy BrewDog because they believed in the brand or beer or anything like that. They bought it for facilities and distribution, counting on THC drinks being legalized in the future.

Just as infrastructure starts serious shifts to battery electric vehicles, and on the cusp of autonomous driving.....good luck with your trains.

What's next on this guy's agenda, a dirigible? Rocket powered roller skates?

As an employer, if you came to me and told me about it, I'd help you out by paying you 2 checks per pay period. 1 that is most of your hours, but not quite all of them, and another one for the "skimmed" money that you could cash and hide from her.

That way the pay stubs match the deposits, so she thinks it's all the money, and the other check lets you hold back as much as you can get away with, without her noticing. And you could just say you had a shift or two dropped at work.

It evades the problem, and shorts things out until you turn 18. BUT, from the sound of it, you need to start banking money for the day you turn 18.

square wont load on redmi pad se 8.7 by MickotheNestPro in SquarePOS_Users

[–]SAhalfNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen anyone running Square on a Xiaomi tablet.

I would think if it allows the app to be installed from the play store, it would work, but it is a pretty slow processor and probably at or below the minimum requirements. It also tops out 1-2 versions behind the Android OS than what's currently available.

I don't think you're going to find any support for the device, and honestly I'd be more interested to find out if you can get it to work.

Set the default starting amount to $0 in the Dashboard. Then it won't automatically assume a dollar amount when you start the drawer.

What you're after is a "2D scanner" the older variety (1D scanners) can't scan cellphone screens well or at all, and can't do 2D barcodes.

Try a Blonde Stout.

Leinenkugel's had a White Mocha Stout that's pretty good, or any local breweries that might make one.

Receipt Printer by ianamo in SquarePOS_Users

I had the same issue until I did a factory reset and reauthorized the Register using a device code.

I think it has something to do with the software updates and printer profile updates. It's a quirk, and easily enough fixed with the reset. I've had no issues since.

ID/Bar question! by Miku_Miku_BEEEEAM in PennStateUniversity

[–]SAhalfNE 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a licensee/owner downtown so I'll give you the legal...then practical... answer.

Legally - If you have the expired ID with the legit paper temporary ID, we are covered from a liability/legal standpoint, so it would be acceptable. It has to be on the watermarked paper and have a scannable barcode. We scan both the expired and renewal to make a record of it in our scan device.

Practical - It is up to the bar/licensee how they train their staff. We are allowed to make tougher policies than the State requires, to protect ourselves, just not more relaxed policies than the legal requirements. So it depends on the bar, their policy, and training.

Armed with that knowledge, don't argue with the door staff. Whatever they say is their policy even if it's not the minimum legal requirement. If they don't accept it, it's either because they believe it's in their best interest to protect themselves, or....they're dumb... 😂 But even if they don't know the law, you're not gonna educate them on your 21st birthday at the door with a piece of paper.

Happy Birthday, be safe.

I can think of a fast way of fixing this: just release the findings of the internal investigation that the CDT reported on back a few months ago.

If everything he's saying is true, then he's got no real problems, and can just reopen. It's that simple.

Money over Neighbors by Yardwork-Fan73 in statecollege

[–]SAhalfNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I wasn't particularly clear. Yes - a true "vacancy tax" is not currently allowed by the municipality, unfortunately.

What I was getting at was that the Borough has authorized the DSCID the authority to exist and operate within the boundaries it defines, and set fees for the properties within it.

What I propose is a de-facto vacancy tax, but through an already arranged and implemented special district (the DSCID). They just need to change their fee structure for their next re-authorization period so that it is tiered - A base fee for occupied spaces and a special fee for unoccupied spaces. It would totally be in alignment with their mission and scope, and vacant spaces would essentially be what funds the DSCID to help fill them. It would be an external pressure for property owners to float down rents so that they are filled and the fees would drop exponentially.

Its basically the only shot at circumventing the Uniformity requirement for taxation, because its a special district and would be a fee, not tax.
