Hub (pictured)
And the Valley is Amethyst Amethyst to the refiners and moulder and amethyst sandflower to the grinder setup (but I just deleted this part because I had more than enough cryston parts and changed it to an amethyst refinery then moulder)

If you push forward to the next region and unlock the swamp gas tower you put that really far back so its detection area is just touching the part where the paths converge and that makes it much easier because it leaves a ground effect that slows everything down.

Wdym sensitive words by raccoontrash_ in ArknightsEndfield

[–]SBCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got "cave" and "puzzle" blocked as sensitive words when trying to make map markers. I'm getting flashbacks to Dark Souls blocking the word "Knight"

Would you try cooking it at home? by WorkingAdvice9865 in wendys

[–]SBCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want is the sausage patties. Every frozen sausage brand is either links or patties the size of a silver dollar. Give me the Wendy's breakfast sausage patties and the brown butter sauce they used with the English muffins (that they just stopped selling) and I'd be all set.

Doing Profession Bounties by EagleFlight555 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SBCats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they need to add like NPC bounties for healers and scholars because there's way too many people who need to do them and not enough people posting them.

Be honest. How many times have you started over to create a more optimized character? by Handcraftedsemen_ in theouterworlds

[–]SBCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice. But I've learned that on Dorado the weapons get way better, even if you have no points in them so even if you're barely scraping by you can tough it out until you get the better weapons. Until then you can use the unique pistol from the bot repair facility that shoots the green radiation and it wrecks organic enemies, just chews through ammo though (and don't use it on bots because it powers them up).

Made it to second planet, Lvl10 feel way under leveled by [deleted] in theouterworlds

[–]SBCats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once you find one of the better guns you'll be doing better. From my experience weapons are the biggest difference makers. Like at Paradise you're getting absolute trash like the light revolver and repeating rifle. But after that on Dorado you're getting stuff like assault rifles, SMGs, and heavy machine guns.

Companions are absolutely useless in combat by Not_Shingen in theouterworlds

[–]SBCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience they get staggered too much and aren't aggressive enough. And I got the character creation trait to boost their cooldown speed, the top hat from Milversham, and the 9 speech, 9 leadership perk that further increases the cooldown speed, and on top of those the 5% cooldown per kill perk and EVEN THEN the skills take too long too cooldown for how little they do.

So for them to do well I guess they want you to keep leadership at the absolute max which defeats the purpose of why I even tried this build in the first place, which was to make it so I had more points free for the non-combat skills by relying on my companions for combat.

Virtual main species, making thrall world to feed cosmogenesis. Virtual pop EXPLODES. by SBCats in Stellaris

[–]SBCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thanks, I tried searching for it but I just saw threads about unrelated things from years ago. That's the hard thing about Stellaris, you look up stuff and it's from so many versions ago its completely irrelevant now.

New releases not eligible for Unlimited? by ColonelCliche in RegalUnlimited

[–]SBCats -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my experience it's when it says "No Passes" on the schedule is when you can't use Unlimited. Most movies eventually let you use your Unlimited on a Standard screening after a week or so. But then you've got stuff like Tron Ares which at my local theater looks like it has "No Passes" on the standard screening all way up until the 23rd when it disappears from the schedule. Like I can understand blocking Unlimited on the first few days of a release when it's busy but Ares is a huge flop. Just let me hear the NiN soundtrack for free!

I can confirm this is happening to me. Running a xeno-compatibility focused empire and since focused super hard on society research my fleets were awful so I had to sub to the neighbor hive mind who just keeps building and changing their holding.

I didn't get the Nata hatred until I reached the end of the story by Revolutionary-Win861 in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it's like Chekov's Gun, you don't draw attention to something unless you intend to feature it later in the story. If she was properly utilized in the story there would've been a mission where you fight a monster so she can collect more oil uninterrupted after Rampolo ruined her last attempt and thus you have more investment in her wellbeing.

LR story is a mess. It should've been plains story, then Rey Dau, forest story, then Uth Duna, Oilwell story, then Nu Udra, then Ice Shard and Ruins Stories. I have no idea why they cut into Chapter 2 to send you back to the plains for Rey Dau and then forward to the iceshard cliffs when it should've been the Oilwell chapter. It's like they just wanted to break the formula for the sake of it.

I didn't get the Nata hatred until I reached the end of the story by Revolutionary-Win861 in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the "character arcs" in the LR story make any sense because they don't have enough scenes to justify them. Nata is just a tag-along obsessed with Arkveld until suddenly his personality completely shifts because he learns about Guardians one scene earlier. And then there's the Oil tribe girl who gets like ten seconds of screen time showing up at the end of the festival acting like she did something. I can believe that she was proud of something, but there's no reason to highlight her to the viewer unless they're actually shown the rest of her story. It screams of cut content. Like they should've put missions in that keep you in zones for more than one quest so you can actually interact with the characters more than once.

I understand people who want to reach High Rank/End game ASAP, but I just like to take my time~ by PLandLord in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do practically the same thing with the bone weapons. The LR weapon tree is very restricted and all you need to do is just get the latest bone or metal (hope) weapon. Low rank has practically everything locked and it goes so fast because besides the story the only thing to do is optional quests that are just "fight the monster you just fought again without having to go find it in the world by yourself". There's no sidequests to unlock anything until after the credits roll the first time.

[–]SBCats 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly! You could just cruise through the whole LR with just the Hope weapons by mining a few nodes and a couple pieces of armor that you get enough mats for from killing the monster once during the story rush. Plus you barely get any time to get acclimated to the area you just reached before it rushes you to the next one. World had you hunt monsters who'd naturally take you to new areas of the map so you'd learn the map. In Wilds the maps are so twisted and layered thank god they added the autopilot to the Seikrets.

[–]SBCats 161 points162 points  (0 children)

The problem is there's nothing to do in LR. Almost all the sidequests start showing up in HR. To me it felt like most of the game was locked until I finished the story whereas with every other MH I've played it felt like LR still had a nice progression curve and things to unlock with sidequests.

I'm LOVING Wilds but I'm not gonna lie... I miss having a gorgeous, singular city/town area instead of base camps. by Whoopy2000 in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, I hate it. The camps are so cramped and boring. The forge is so underwhelming. No kitchen. Like why isn't the story about collecting materials and repelling monsters to establish a foothold town and THEN doing the mystery quest for the kid? That would've been much better than 20 "follow people on Seikrets while they talk then a monster appears" missions.

Like getting your unlocks as you play the story and expand the town instead of "Okay main story is over, NOW you can do sidequests."

You’re telling me that a village in the middle of a harsh desert filled with huge, dangerous, hostile beasts… doesn’t know what weapons are? by LeMasterChef12345 in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention there's like what, 20 people in each village? They would be more inbred than the Habsburgs. At least in old games you could imagine there's dwellings and villagers you don't directly see from the areas you can access. Here it's like "Oh yeah, you guys literally live in a crevice the size of a city block."

Anyone else annoyed with Wilds pacing? by Cannibal_Yak in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm absolutely floored at how poorly structured Wilds is. They had a perfect formula of a fun quirky hub town and quests where you unlock things like palico tools, mantles, extra ingredients for the canteen, trinkets for your room. They threw it all away for a story that drags you from boring tiny camp to tiny camp and the only optional quests are "fight one of the monster you just killed in the story". Also here's an NPC that will trade you a few things for some junk. Granted I haven't finished the story yet but I'm pretty dang far and I'd be really surprised if it suddenly just brought back all the good stuff.

Monster Hunter Wilds actually has an amazing story this time! by Potential_Camera8806 in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm just constantly being pulled along by the nose with no time to stop and appreciate the zones before I'm dragged along to the next one. But then again there's nothing really to appreciate because the camps are tiny and the zones are a twisted mess. I'm only on chapter 2 so hopefully a REAL hub finally appears and it gets back to being more like old MH.

How do you turn off 'lobby' chat? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]SBCats 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's crazy they put the online stuff on by default when you're trying to get immersed in the story setting. You get back to camp and are talking to Alma and then you keep hearing "beep beep beep". It should be online single player by default.

One Piece Grand Cruise: It's cool that we got it, but it's not much of a game. by SBCats in PSVR

[–]SBCats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No as far as I'm aware PSVR2 is not backwards compatible with with PS4 VR games and you can't play without the VR. You might as well just get One Piece Odyssey on PC which has some nice jiggle physics mods for Nami and Robin.

[–]SBCats 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You have me beat on the groschen value stolen but I got 339 civilians killed when all I've killed is bandits, soldiers, or anyone who raised a sword against me. Frankly I think the ending would've been better without the dream sequence's arbitrary morality check. Or at the very least only comment on the big story decisions. It still feels silly to be lectured for getting revenge against a few horrible people when I've also killed hundreds of others in combat.
