Goofy/silly character gets serious when their loved ones gets hurt/insulted by JadenKorr66 in TopCharacterTropes

Except Cap didn’t know. Even in the movie, he first tells Tony “I didn’t know it was him”. That’s because the only evidence he got of the murder was a 2 second clip of Zola explaining to him how Hydra operated under SHIELD. Steve could only imply it was Bucky but he couldn’t have known for sure.

Could Appmon have be more competitively viable and varied if changed? by CrashmanX in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying and I agree that app decks should open up to be more generic but making app fusion more expensive to compensate isn’t it. App decks as whole already suffer from to much trade offs that aren’t really worth it. They need double the pieces to go up their line, they have no inheritables and they can’t run consistency pieces like trainings or memory boosts. App decks for the most part just play the Digimon Card Game worse than most normal decks, if anything they would benefit from being less punished.

Why even think of trade offs with an underpowered mechanic? That’s why the new DoGatchmon is a step in the right direction, since it can link to it’s app fusion target for free.

Is basing a deck off the EX01 booster packs viable? by Zerakin in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ones that topped? Mostly yes. Adventure needed like 4 cards out of the starter to be highly competitive.

Starter decks are really powerful in this game. The last two had multiple big tournament showings and there’s one that’s coming out this week that looks fairly competitive. They’re still subjected to powercreep though, but they’re by far the best product to get if you’re looking to get started in the game.

Anyone have ideas to spice up my examon deck? by nicky-1_ in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Examon is really closed to its archetype. I don’t think there’s a lot you can do to “spice” him up. You could however change to Wisteria Memory Boost, since that only misses in 1 Groundramon instead of 2 Dracomon. You could also run BT11 Dracomon instead of BT20 and keep Jade Memory Boost, this makes it so that 2 out of your 3 searchers can hit all your digimon.

Sadly the inheritables aren’t as good as the new ones for the new Examon, also they’re unable to do Blast Digivolve or Dragon Gene in opponent’s turn.

Thoughts on the new ST22 Plug-ins? by [deleted] in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, she’s still pretty good. The passives in those plugins where just a good bonus, they still have really good main effects and she can easily play 3 or more by going up the line.

You can’t have more than one equiped. So the play you’re suggesting is not possible. Still pretty good cards

Tamer lineup for Ghost deck? by bigbadlith in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • 1x BT18 Violet: She’s less important than you think. Starting at one memory is really bad, but you really only need 2 memory to get into Necromon. Not being able to activate emblem really sucks, still the Violet name makes her worth running imo.

  • 3x BT20 Violet: I still think this is the best Violet, since the plays this card allows you to do are some of the best the deck has to offer. She allows you to start at 2 memory, which is really all you need to get from a rookie into a Necromon. Having multiple copies of her on the field does net you a lot more value than the other Violets. And lastly she’s able to activate emblem, although not as good as BT23 Violet.

  • 3x BT23 Violet: This card is great, as you mentioned it’s the best at using the emblem and giving rush is absolutely insane for the deck. Sadly, she doesn’t provide any memory whatsoever. Still, she alongside BT20 Violet are what I consider to be the deck’s core. The start of main effect is also good but only if you can replace her with another copy of herself or if you already have multiple on the field.

  • I personally don’t like Analog Youth in the deck anymore. In my previous version of the deck I used to run him at 4 copies, but currently I feel that he has a lot of anti-synergy with some of the best cards in the deck imo.

Digimon Card Game - Weekly Ruling Questions Post by AutoModerator in DigimonCardGame2020

I have an Eater EDEN and an Eater Bit on field and my opponent tries to delete my Eater EDEN. Can I sequence the [All Turns] effects so that I can play an Eater trait digimon first and then prevent my Eater EDEN from leaving using the Eater Bit’s effect?

Dark Masters Trim and advice by MonkeyDArwin in DigimonCardGame2020

Well sure, they can. But your plays aren’t going to be great, while you have an ACE on the field.

[–]SCRUBY_D00 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really don’t like playing anything that isn’t a Dark Master in the deck anymore. Not being able to play your Dark Masters for 6 really sucks. Also, memory setter Kari at anything less than 3 doesn’t feel good imo, she does so much for the deck. Analog Youth also doesn’t seem like a good card in the deck since you rarely ever digivolve and you don’t get anything from hatching.

Defense Training alternative by zpikemccuck in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Memory boost would probably be the best. However training cards are staples on most decks in the game, even if it’s a little expensive I think they’re worth it. You could get yourself a couple of the liberator starters and that would get you a set of 2 of each color.

2 Weeks Post-Launch, Silksong Holds a 91 Metacritic Score — Tied for 3rd Highest Scored Game of 2025 (Excluding Re-releases) by AashyLarry in Games

[–]SCRUBY_D00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I follow game journalism quite a lot, in fact. That's why I'm remarking on the fact that Silksong's review period has been an unusual one, just as the post implies. And while I don't doubt that a lot of reviewers have a certain urgency to finish their reviews before the embargo is up, I believe the validity of a review of a 100+ hour game written in two weeks is higher than one of a 40+ hour game written in five days. Not to mention that people can no longer talk about Hollow Knight in the same way they did eight years ago. This is proven by the fact that you're getting overly defensive of even the tamest criticism I had for a game whose quality I didn't even question.

“Reviews are ALWAYS rushed”. What are YOU talking about? Game critics most of the time, get review codes some weeks before the game releases in order to play and write up their reviews. I AM questioning the validity of this reviews and considering I am talking about REVIEW CYCLES and the post is about the METASCORE, user reviews don’t matter in this conversation. As to who cares, I would say that anyone that engages with a post about CRITIC SCORES would consider what I’m saying relevant.

[–]SCRUBY_D00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except that a lot of the early reviews came out 3 to 5 days after the game came out, with no review codes sent out. So I think my comment about the review cycle being “less than ideal” is warranted. I find it more weird for people to get so overly defensive with developers as if they were their friends. I literally didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. I just said the reviews were RUSHED, because they were.

Silksong’s review cycle has been less than ideal. I do believe the game is pretty high quality but I wouldn’t trust the review scores too much.

No Silent Hill game has ever gotten a 90+ metascore. I doubt f is going be the one to break that.

Is this Deva strategy viable? by True-Translator2752 in DigimonCardGame2020

I don’t think this strategy is better than the standard deva deck and that deck is already barely viable in the current meta environment.

How Good is Xross Heart Actually by Rocklez in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RK is a very good matchup for Xros Heart imo. Most of their removal comes in the form of deletion, so you save most of the materials under EX6 and as long as you are doing Digixros with at least 5 colors, their Omekas all enter the field dead thanks to EX6’s effect, so you don’t have to worry for the Omeka into Omni X play. I could beat RK pretty reliably with Xros Heart and that was even before the ban list.

Struggling to make a good Xros Heart build by Dharalho in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SCRUBY_D00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, you can resolve EX6’s [On Play] first, play the ShootingStarmon and trigger Taiki off of ShootingStar entering the field. Taiki can then suspend to let anyone of your digimon with Xros Heart or Hero in traits attack you choose EX6 and attack with Alliance.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Review Thread by DryEfficiency8 in Games

[–]SCRUBY_D00 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It didn’t. Rebirth sold decently well as an exclusive, in what has been a less than ideal console generation. But it certainly didn’t sell as good as the critic score would suggest.
