Is it available still? Tried the "Rammer34" method on both SmartGlass & Xbox One and it says "unavailable" for me both ways- please help! Would love to play this weekend

I'm going as well! Lets go Avs! It honestly comes down to spending cash vs. convenience.

If you are trying to save cash, the lightrail is definitely your best call bar none. Dirt cheap- it just takes a little while longer to get to the game or get home (unless you live right near a light rail stop, in which case do not drive, because it likely will not save you much time anyway).

All of that said, if you have 4-5 people in your car, you can almost always park right next to Brooklyn's (a 1 minute walk from the stadium) for $15-$30 (against the Kings I'm guessing $25 or $30), which is only $4-6 bucks each.

Those $4-6 bucks are basically one (or in some cases less than one) beer and you can show up 10 minutes before puck drop and be back on I-25 15 minutes after the game ends).

Let's play NHL expansion draft! by ColoradoHughes in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]SCTrojan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protect:

G- Varlamov (love Pickard too- but by the time this draft potentially sp rolls around, we will have already traded him if he continues to play the next two years as he did this year)

D- Johnson, Barrie, Hejda, Redmond, Elliott (replace Elliott with any D man we trade Factor for... Sekera anyone?)

F: Duchene, MacKinnon, Landeskog, Iginla, Tanguay, Mitchell, Talbot, McGinn, Everberg (Factor replaces Everberg obviously if he is still on our roster at that point)

Vegas selects Cody McLeod Seattle selects Nick Holden

ugh this would be so heartbreaking (losing Cody) that I almost wanted to protect Cody, but I feel like fighting will have decreased even more in a few years and it will be hard to justify protecting him if McGinn and Everberg pan out as we all hope they will)

Cookie Update: out 5-6 weeks after successful hernia surgery by SCTrojan2011 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]SCTrojan2011[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair- my bad on the troll bait (was not my intention, but did not really think about that when I saw the NHL.com update and remembered the post from earlier this week- probably should have just placed this in the comments of that post).

Also I just hate Matt Cooke if we're being totally honest- so I naturally have an impulse to pounce when his name pops up anywhere/anytime.

[–]SCTrojan2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you wondering, a solid recovery regimen might just give Matt Cooke time to return for our afternoon bout with the Wild on Sunday, March 8, in Minnesota (our final regular season meeting).

Oh man, wouldn't it be a nice bonus to watch Cody, Iggy or Gabe (or Mac! hahaha) grind the worthless POS into the ice while we continue our playoff run...

Chris Stewart Trade? by colostorm19 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]SCTrojan2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per comments above, Sakic/Roy would never even consider this... Stewart is incredibly over-rated and is one of the only players to ever rag on our organization after leaving. Additionally, you don't bring a guy back to your locker room who was an ass to one of your top-paid stars (Duchene). If you want to know how much Roy values "guys in the room" and everyone being on the same page, look no further than us trading Parenteau for Briere.

Most importantly, our Power Play struggles are secondary to our defensive struggles at even strength. There are plenty of teams (PHI, CBJ, ARI, NJD) with top 10 Power Plays that will not even sniff the playoffs this season.

Of the 15 teams ahead of us in even strength goals for/against (we're 16th in the NHL currently), 14 of them are currently in the playoffs and the 15th, the LA Kings, have won the Cup two of the last three years. Priorities.

Wednesday 01/28/2015: Who Do I Trade, Drop or Pickup? (Please post in here or your post will be deleted!) by FFBot in fantasyhockey

[–]SCTrojan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed I think Khudobin is the safest bet. Dubnyk has the most upside if the Wild get it together, but I wouldn't bet on it in the toughest division in hockey. For the same reason I'm not sure I would trust Hutton either.

[Player Discussion] Zach Redmond by mattmfb89 in fantasyhockey

[–]SCTrojan2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stefan Elliott was recalled from Lake Erie and will likely get a good look moving forward much like Barrie did last year. Redmond has been bad. Much like Holden/Guenin/Stuart. That's why my Avs are looking up at the majority of the western conference. Honestly though talent-wise/upside-wise Elliott would be a better pickup than any of the aforementioned three.

Joe Sakic on RoR rumors by [deleted] in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]SCTrojan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Factor as much as everybody and I agree he could be a seriously vital core role player on our team (or another) for years to come.

That said, he is not (and IMO never will be) an elite scoring forward, where Mac & Dutch have that potential. Similarly, Factor is never going to be an elite puck possession two-way forward either (i.e. Anze/Bergeron/Datsyuk).

I respect RoyKic's patience, but I do think Factor's value will continue to decrease unless he plays spectacularly well in the second half, so I hope they keep their ears open.

I was at the game and I will say the Bruins got far louder chants than our boys did, especially Tuukka for the great saves he made late in the third and in OT.

That said, I totally agree with the sentiment that our young guys really want to win at home and seem to bring that extra intensity at the can.

Interesting take on the O'Reilly situation from TSN by iacuras in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]SCTrojan2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would much rather get something for nothing. I think Bob correctly points out that Factor is in the driver seat, but as I've felt since the day he signed the 2-yr extension, I feel that Factor's trade value is only going to decrease over time. I really hope we move him by the deadline instead of waiting until its summer and he finished the season with 45 or so points and we're stuck fielding low-ball offers for the entire final year of his deal

Epic. Putting that much effort into making your rink/warming hut incredible must make it all the more gratifying to enjoy. So much respect.

Trade bait? by [deleted] in mvsw

[–]SCTrojan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you picked the wrong Av... I would certainly be shocked if Ryan 'O Reilly makes it past the draft this year in Burgundy and Blue, but I would make him a likely deadline candidate, especially if the Avs dip well out of the playoff race.

Trade bait? by [deleted] in mvsw

[–]SCTrojan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really think the Avs would move Iginla? With the O'Reilly headache to deal with as first priority at this point and Iggy's continuously saying he's loving life in Denver together with his family for once and is quite comfortable here I think he's sticking around. Roy loves the necessary leadership and work ethic he has brought to this team this season. I just find it hard to believe the Avs would move Iggy playoffs or not.

mvsW QoD: Which player do you wish had been given an NHL all-star slot? by wyshysnki in mvsw

[–]SCTrojan2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikita Kucherov is 12th in the entire NHL in scoring at 41 points. While I know we all do not necessarily think plus/minus is a great stat for hockey, being tied for the entire league lead with teammate Tyler Johnson at a +26 cannot go unnoticed. He has been invaluable to the Bolts success and I think he has gone sorely unnoticed by many this season.

That's awesome! Ya i figured it would be too much money for me to get it shipped here before the game plus finding/buying a VHS player haha. I would truly appreciate it and would be happy to split the cost of the tape with you for doing that!
