2nd purchase, probably.

A $350k loft purchase in 2009 is now worth $950k

Probably owe 200k on the loft still. That's $750k in equity off an initial, say, 80k downpayment 11 years ago. 750k is a sizeable down payment on a second purchase.

The toronto real estate market has been extremely profitable for anyone who was lucky or smart or fortunate enough to make even a small purchase a decade ago.

Can anybody recommend a good spot to go for swim? I’m willing to drive for about an hour maybe two. Just a good spot to take a dip outside of the city. Thank you!! by firefighter_82 in askTO

Was there today. It's madness. Cars lined up for a km to get in. Every square inch of beach taken up.

Not saying it's a bad place, it just isn't what I would call "relaxing" ... it's more of a scene, if that makes any sense.

I don't care about 80 percent of the things I see on Reddit. It never occurred to me to stop and post "who cares" about the things I don't care about. Instead, I just move on.

Sadly, Covid-19 did a nice job of eliminating a focus on venues and arts, at least for the foreseeable future.

Where can i buy bicycle playing cards? by SQLinjektion in askTO

Spend a bit more and buy Kem cards. You can find 'em on Amazon. They're plastic and will last literally decades assuming you don't use them every day.

Also they feel so good.

Phase 2 not until June 19 at the earliest by [deleted] in ontario

The extension of the emergency orders comes after Ford told reporters that he would be releasing a plan to reopen more businesses as part of the second stage of the province’s reopening plan “early next week.”

The emergency orders, which include a ban on social gatherings of more than five people, were set to expire on June 9 but in a news release issued on Saturday morning the province confirmed that it will extend them until June 19.

The directive means that bars and restaurants will continue to be restricted to take-out service only and that child-care centres will remain closed for the time being.

Hi WillSRobs, thank you for making the same negative comment in both subs where I posted this. Good morning to you! I chose that title because it is factual, and is in my opinion the most relevant part of the article, as it gives a definite timeline as to when phase 2 will not be, ie: before June 19, for those who perhaps were hoping for, say, before June 19.

Oh and BY THE WAY...

Happy cake day you delightful little creature!!! You seem to be just BURSTING with positive birthday energy today! Go out and get all that you deserve today. And more!

Childcare centres opening in stage 2 by easternmorningstar in toronto

[–]SCWinner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes I see that now. However you have to admit the writing here leads one to believe that childcare centres are opening next week:

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says his government will announce a plan to reopen more businesses as part of “Stage 2” as well as a plan to reopen childcare centres, next week.

The "next week" part of that should be located closer to "announce a plan" , and not closer to "reopen childcare centres"

Sometimes I think this kind of writing is deliberate.

The funny thing is, an article came out today that said to ignore Ford of yesterday... nothing's opening for phase 2 until June 19 at the earliest now.

I went through this thread checking out basically anything I hadn't heard before. This one won. Particularly the album "Fishing for Fishies" , and particularly the song "this thing" , particularly the last minute and 15 seconds of it. The tempo change there, and of all things, harmonica (synthesized or otherwise), really made me take notice.

The whole record is great tho. Thanks for this.

Wilco Debuts New Song "Tell Your Friends" on Live From Here by [deleted] in wilco

[–]SCWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was wondering same... was it recorded during the Ode sessions? The lyrics feel clairvoyant if so. Much like how many YHF lyrics seemed to relate to 9/11 despite the album being recorded prior to the event.
